SPLURGE!

I am SOOOO excited about my birthday present! I am splurging on something very exciting! Ive decided to purchase an embroidery machine!!

Its something Ive wanted for so long and I just decided I would put all my birthday money towards one. Ive read review after review and this one gets great reviews. Im hoping it’s as easy to use as all the reviews say because I have a lot of monogramming to do! Jeremy asked me if it was something I would use and I told him not to worry because his socks and boxers would be monogrammed too! HA!
I can’t wait to show you what I create! It’s a sewing/embroidery combo so maybe I can learn to sew too! Maybe one day I could do this on the side for people- I would love it! Can you tell I would love to do something I love :) All I need to do is start a monogramming/headband business! I think there are plenty of those out there though!
Wish me luck!

SO Big!

Somebody is getting so big!!!

She loves sleeping on her tummy (with her sweet little bum in the air!)

Watching cartoons (those were my jammies as a baby!)
Pulling up on everything! You cant leave her alone in a room! She had her first bloody lip at daycare and bumped her head on a coffee table- its just the beginning! So glad I wasn’t there for either of those so I didn’t have to hear her screaming! But I wish I had been there to comfort her!
She is crawling too! Tuesday night we got it on camera for the first time! It was GREAT! She is really getting the hang of it and is on the move!

still no teeth...

I've been waiting and waiting for these teeth to come through, since I was convinced that Hannahs personality change was attributed to teething but still NO teeth! I am not convinced it was the beginning of an ear infection because of the amount of drool. But Ive been fooled before. So we are just waiting for teeth- but in the meantime we are ALL sleeping much better. Even though last week was so hard I think it was almost a blessing in disguise because she isn’t so dependent on her paci in the middle of the night now. All last week she wouldn’t take a paci because it hurt her mouth or ears. So now she is sleeping great in the middle of the night and not waking up- thankfully!! If she does cry out she can usually put herself back to sleep. It only took 7 months….
Speaking of 7 months….we have a 7 month old!! WOW! This precious little girl was 7 months on Friday. I cant even believe it. This has truly been the best 7 months of my life and each and every day gets more fun. She is getting SOOO big! I realize that every time I peek in her crib and she is sleeping on her tummy. Its just something about her being able to roll over and choose to sleep on her tummy that makes her seem so much more grown up! She always wakes up so happy and plays and talks for about 10-15 minutes in the morning while I finish getting ready. Its adorable- sometimes she even puts herself back to sleep!
She is on the move and ready to crawl any day! She gets on all fours and rocks but cant quite figure out what to do next. She’s almost there though- once she starts we will have our hands full!! She is eating very well (obviously!) She eats cereal & sometimes a fruit for breakfast and fruit for lunch and veggies for dinner! She LOVES her fruits and veggies! She is already pulling up on so many things- including my legs! I have a feeling we have lots of bumps and bruises in our future! Saturday night we laid her down and she was talking a little then it got real quiet so I went to check on her and she was just sitting up in bed playing with her bunny and the bumpers. It was TOO cute! But she was ready to reach for the side of the crib so at 10:00 at night we lowered the crib- again!!! I think we are as low as we can go. She should be safe in her little prison cell!
This weekend was nice- short but nice! Saturday afternoon Jeremys sister and the kids were coming in town to go to the fair and we met them for lunch on the river. Then we went to a nearby park and played for a little bit. We all had fun and it was so good to see Jacey. I cant even believe she is already in first grade. I remember seeing her when she was 4 hours old! She is still beautiful as ever! She loves Hannah too but I don’t think she realized Hannah doesn’t do too much and would rather rip up paper than color on it!

what a week!!

This week has been CRAZY! This poor little girl has been miserable since Saturday night! We had friends over Saturday and I swear as soon as Courtney walked in the door Hannah started drooling like Ruby waiting for a treat! It was just pooring out of her mouth. She seemed fine most of the night but then she woke up almost every hour that night. Sunday was bad- she was just crying out in pain and no one got any sleep! I am convinced its her poor teeth- and with all the screaming she has been doing I sure hope she is getting the entire set! It has been a LOOOONNNGGGG week to say the least. I stayed home with her Monday and took her to the doctor- no strep or ear infection. But the poor girl wont even eat anything! She barely eats fruit and cereal and will only take a bottle if she is starved! You can tell how much pain she is in. Daycare called me a couple times Tuesday and Wednesday so I took her back to the doctor on Wednesday. I just wanted someone to look in her mouth and make sure there weren’t any sores or anything else that could be bothering her. I know teething shouldn’t be this bad but we tried teething tables and orajel and if you even reach for her mouth and she swats your hand away. The doctor on Wednesday said it looked like an ear infection was coming on so he went ahead and gave us an antibiotic. She slept all night last night- thankfully!! We were running on fumes. I swear this week has been harder than any week she was a newborn. She slept more as a newborn!!
So I am ready for my half day and the weekend! We are just exhausted!

play date!

Allyson & Crystal- two girls I lived with in college- both had baby girls within the last year and we had our first play date with all our girls together! It was so much fun! Crystal has Mya who is 10 months- Allyson has Reagan who is an itty bitty 7 weeks! Then there is my girl- who is biggest of all at 6.5 months. Ive never seen Hannah around too many children that are older than her and it was SO funny! She is- hands down- going to be my WILD CHILD! This girl is non-stop to begin with but she was so interested in Mya and playing with her. She even grabbed for her and her hair several times :) I have a feeling Im going to get alot of calls from Daycare!
Take 1
and take 2!
sweet girls!

and here is my wild child trying to escape in the morning! We are ready to lower the crib :)
this is why it is so hard to leave this face in the morning- she is always SO happy!!

a girl with a glue gun

I dont sew- my mom has really tried to teach me and I just dont do it very well. Maybe its a lack of patience or maybe I just dont have the sewing gene. But my mom just has a knack for it. Well- she can do pretty much anything. So Ive resorted to a glue gun. And oh my are there ALL kinds of things you can do with a glue gun! I was on a mission this weekend to make headbands. Ive been googling and reading blogs and tutorials to figure out how to make all these adorable headbands I see on Etsy. But I refuse to pay when I know I can do it! So I set my mind to it this weekend and I really had so much fun! I would only need to sell THOUSANDS of headbands and paci clips to work part time. Only thousands. But I figure Im saving us money on all the headbands and paci clips I would be buying, right? So Ive been reading and reading and alot of what I have found requires a sewing maching- not for this girl! I got my very first glue gun (surprising for the daughter of a lady with one whole room for crafts!) but yes, my very first one. I got clips, fabric and ribbon and started yesterday...and well- I couldnt stop! I made paci clip after paci clip and headband after headband! It just takes a little dab of glue and you can do what a sewing machine would do! Well kind of- I know I could do alot more if I could just learn to sew- but for now, Im having fun with the gun :)
One of my favorite gifts to give for baby showers are burp cloths trimmed in ribbon- but they take me forever because I would pin and sew and then mess something up and my poor mom would have to fix it for me- so I realized I could make those with the glue gun too! Our guest room looks like a bomb went off and Im sure Im bound to step on something sharp....but I played Martha for the weekend and loved it.
I really do enjoy this- if anyone out there sees anything they would be interested in just let me know because I would LOVE to start selling these. I love that my sweet girl is my model! She has a new headband on every where we go! Ive made headbands, paci clips and burp cloths so far. Im hoping the possibilites are endless with my glue gun.....

Burp cloths
Flowers-I have been clipping these into the headbands. The problem with the actual headband is that I can only find the elastic online- so I dont have alot right now- but I will be ordering LOTS more!
My little model (Hard to get a good picture because she doesnt stop!)

and the paci clips (I absolutey LOVE the ribbon on the far right)! Hannah loves her pacis and these things are amazing- especially now that she puts it back in her mouth herself! That happened so much sooner than I thought it would!

I hope you enjoy and Id love some feedback :)
