sweet pics of Hannah!

We met our friends the Stewarts a couple weekends ago for breakfast in Anchorage and Hannah and Noah had a blast! It was HOT but they ran all around and by the end Noah (& Hannah) needed a nap! Mr. Stewart got some great pictures of Hannah & Noah. He was so sweet to chase her around for pictures!

friends, food & a day date!

this weekend was really nice! it was my long day friday so that makes my weekend feel really short but we spent time with friends and family & ate ALOT! Friday Hannah and I met my mom for dinner. It was one of those dinners where I almost asked for the check after we got our drinks. Hannah was NOT in the mood to be in a restaurant & was pretty vocal about it! It was short and sweet and I was ready to get her home and in bed! Saturday we had friends over, we attempted the splash park with Emma but neither one were too interested. And it was HOT! So we headed home to make our Pinterest menu of the most delicious food! Ever since Ive been on pinterest Ive been dying to make some the tasty recipes Ive seen. We had enough food for 20 people- Jalapeno popper dip, homemade pizza rolls, bloomin onion bread, the best ham sandwiches ever, and 2 yummy desserts! Mini strawberry cheesecakes- which is a strawberry hollowed out, filled with cheesecake filling & topped with graham cracker crumbs- they are so little you could eat like 5 of them. We also tried the oreo rice krispie treats- basically rice krispie treats made with oreos instead of rice krispies. Another big YUM! I shouldnt eat all week! Im still full!

Hannah and Emma had a blast running through the house screaming- oh wait- the screaming was just from my wild child!!

Sunday we had a "day date". Our sweet family friends LOVE Hannah and wanted to spend some time with her. Noah is going in to 2nd grade and just loves her. He is such a good little Hannah helper. I think she wears him out!!

she actually sat still for Noah to read to her!

We were able to run errands and enjoy some quiet shopping :) Back to the grind tomorrow. How does it go so fast?? Im hoping to slowly start working on my craft closet reorganization this week. It needs to be done!

back to sleeping & 18 mo appt

We are back to sleeping in the Adkins house! During all of Hannahs diaper rash problems and getting through another round of teething for the teeth that I swear are never coming in, we are back to our routine. However through all of that we created a new night time routine. Hannah likes to lay in our bed for about 10 minutes before we put her in her crib. We wind down, drink a little milk and watch some mindless cartoons. We all get in a little snuggle time and after a few minutes she is ready for her bed. I love those few short minutes :) We had her 18 month appt on Tuesday and Hannah weighs 29.1 pds and is 33.75 inches tall. She was in the 95-97th % for both- big growing girl! Im just so thankful she is healthy. Her new thing is singing. I didnt think anything could be cuter than bye bye. But her singing is so darn cute! I kind of sang the words "maaaaa maaaaa" and she repeated it right back to me. I LOVED it. I do have a video clip of it but Ill spare you my voice. She does it when she wants to, of course I told my mom all about it today and she wouldnt do it for hwe. Her vocabulary is really increasing and I love all her new words. Puppy is the latest. She even pointed to the puppy on the charmin toilet paper wrapper and said "puppy!" Cute! I love this girl more everyday- everyday its something new!!
I still havent taken any good pictures lately- with Jeremy working so late every night and Hannah back to going to bed early we barely have enough time to play after work. Here she is enjoying a bucket on her head!

new ride!

granmommy and gramps treated Hannah to a new ride for her 18 month b-day! She loves her new cozy coupe! We are letting her play with it inside until it cools down....might just be until November. She loves it. She gets in and shouts- Bye Bye!! She mostly drives in reverse. Its so darn cute. She couldnt wait to get in and barely let daddy finish putting it together!

wouldnt even wait until it was finished to get in!

we went and had a bath to pass the time and then it was finished!!

half birthday!

Someone is 18 months old today! What? How did that happen? Its amazing when children are this age how much they change in a year. This time last year I still had a rolly polly little BABY and now I have a rolly polly toddler. A little girl with a mind of her own, her independence, and well her own attitude too. Which we have coined, "hannatude". It fits. This girl always keeps us on our toes. So much for predictability. There are only a few "predictables" with Hannah, other than that her mind changes often! One night she might actually eat broccoli and the next looks at you like, what the heck is this stuff? What is predictable is that every single day she will make us fall in love with her more and more. There will be moments when Jeremy and I will look at eachother and in an unspoken way just know we could do this 5 times over. (Then I pay daycare....). But she is the true definition of unconditional love. There is something new she does every day that makes my heart smile. When she says, ma ma from across the room sometimes I just have to stop and go give her a big hug. As she begins to say SO many new things and if she doesnt know how to say it she tries, I cant help but just melt everytime I hear that sweet little raspy voice. Her favorite is Bye Bye. She doesnt leave a room without letting everyone know she is leaving. Its the loudest Bye Bye you've ever heard. And its amazing and I could listen to it over and over. Another favorite is Elmo. She knows Elmo's song very well and whenever she sees a picture of Elmo she instantly says, "la la la". To cute for words. Of course we think everything she does is cute, but there are some not so cute moments. Like the temper tantrums every now and then (seriously...I thought those started at two?) But it just teaches us how Hannah deals with some situations and how we are to react to her. She is the kind of child who just needs some time to chill out. Some mornings she has a fit in the high chair- so I just have to walk away until she is ready to be sweet again :)
She is learning alot and picks up on things so fast- she is very into telling you what sounds animals make....my favorite is the snake. She is so good at identifying objects and without you asking will tell you what they are. Especially dogs and bananas. She loves music, singing, her wagon, playing outside, eating fruit, waving at everything when she leaves a room. When she gets out of the bath, she waves to it. I love it.
She has the sweetest heart. She loves to give her toys hugs and kisses and always has time to give her daddy a big kiss! Most of the time she leans in to kiss me then moves her head and says, No! Ha! I love her more than I thought possible and although I miss the little baby that fit in my arms I absolutely love watching a child grow and learn. I love interacting with her and watching her understand. Sometimes when she is doing something bad we will tell her to go sit in time out and she really will go sit against the wall. Its beyond funny but it doesnt last very long. At least she gets the concept :)

I dont have recent pictures to post but Amanda just took her 18 month pictures which I cant wait to see! What a difference a year makes!

Here she is at 6 months old!!

Happy 18 months Hannah! Best 18 months of our lives!!

a crafty weekend!

I had the craft bug this weekend! I have several monogramming orders right now- so I worked on some of those and began sewing! Something I am very excited about. I tend to try and do things my own way so I have alot to learn. My mom came over to give me some tips and I know that if I keep trying to do things "my way" its going to be the longer way :) She has a true gift when it comes to sewing. She made the most amazing Apron Knot dress. WOW! Hannah wore it in her 18 month pictures this weekend and it looked awesome. She just keeps telling me- its just straight lines...easier said than done :) However Im finding all kinds of new projects now that I took the first big step and actually changed the foot on my machine to the sewing foot. That was a big step for me! So I did alot of crafting, we had Hannah's pictures, and had a date night! It was really nice! My mom was so sweet to treat us to a babysitter on Saturday night. So the girl that watched Hannah for a couple weeks last summer came over for a couple hours. We had a nice dinner and saw Horrible Bosses. It had its funny parts but is definitely a renter. Before we had Hannah I was never much of a movie theater person...but now that we cant just pick up and go I like to see a movie every now and then. It was a nice relaxing night!
While we were talking over dinner we talked about totally revamping the closet in the guest room/office/craft room so I can work completely out of the closet. Instead of having to pull out all of my crafts for each project. I am so excited to get started and re-organize it. I have been stalking Pinterest for new ideas- by the way...if you are not on Pinterest you need to be. Ive never seen so many AMAZING ideas and recipes. I feel like I only get on there when Im starving and the stuff looks amazing!

I think the week ahead looks kind of busy but all fun things so that is good! Ill be trying to fit in some sewing too!

Isnt this so pretty! I could look at and pick out fabric all day for sweet dresses!

She also whipped up a pinafore for H. Its ADORABLE! The back has a huge bow and a ruffled edge. I cant wait to get pictures of Hannah in it. I have found several patterns that Im going to attempt...I found an "easy" pattern for a little girls skirt that Im looking forward to trying!

what we've been up to!

not too much- but boy have I felt busy and exhausted! very exhausted because Hannah has been WAY off her night time schedule. She isnt ready to go to bed at 6:30 like she was- which means we get to spend more time with her at night but she has been waking up surprisingly early. I figured if she went to bed later she would sleep later...not the case. This mornings wake up call was 4:10 am. Hannah went back to sleep...I did not. Ive been filling my time playing with my new toy...we got a MacBook Pro....which we desperately needed. Ok maybe not desperately- but it feels good not to have to sit at the computer desk to work on pictures, blog or check my email. Now I can do it from any room in the house. Its a pretty nice treat to ourselves. We dont go on fancy trips, like ever, we dont buy expensive clothes or have very expensive habits so we thought we would splurge. And we love it! I also find myself spending alot of time on Pinterest. What is Pinterest? Besides the most amazing website ever- its the coolest place to get craft ideas, recipes, decorating tips and so much more. Its basically like a virtual bulletin board. I have found so many awesome craft ideas, photography ideas and recipes that make me actually want to cook. And that takes ALOT! You find ideas that you like from other people and "pin" them to your boards. Its so neat. If only I had the time and room to make all the amazing crafts I have found. I need to be a full time crafter. What an awesome job. We hit the splash park up tonight- H wasnt too into it. I dont think it was hot enough for her to get drenched with freezing cold waterso we opted for the swings & the slides. We had fun! I just need to make it through one more work day and the weekend will be here! I am so thankful for weekends!! I dont even have any good pictures to update. Just a couple I took on my phone while H was playing and hanging out with her best friend (Me of course!) this girl is a TALKER! She is saying so many new things- I LOVE hearing her voice. She loves saying bye bye. I didnt know if she would ever do anything but wave but one day she just blurted out "bye bye". And its so cute. When she leaves a room she feels like she needs to announce to the whole place that she is leaving. A big long, loud, drawn out...Bbbbyyyyyyeeeee bbbyyyeeeee!! Its too cute for words :)

i love this hairdo- her hair is so cute when she wakes up! and she loves books- she will just sit there and flip the pages and jabber her own little story.

oh and someone is getting skinny! wish I could say me :) but she has lost a pound! And thats a big difference on a little girl! her bathing suit and several other clothes are big on her now! I cant believe it. But she is still pretty rolly!

Our New Favorite Place!

They just recently built a splash park right near our house- its AWESOME! I couldnt wait to go. I think I was the most excited about it. It was so nice and so clean- just a great thing to do during the summer! I wasnt sure how Hannah would react- she is so weird about the baby pool but loves her water table. I think just like Hannah is with everything else- she wants to get wet on her own time. She doesnt want to be put in a big pool of water. At first she wasnt so sure- but then she LOVED it! We stayed for quite a while and didnt even make it over to the playground. We are going back again today :)

Not so sure about this place- had to hang on to her daddy!
I had to post this picture- we think this is something they do in daycare- she does this move all the time! Its HILARIOUS! Its got to be part of a song or something. She bends down real low and puts her arms behind her. She is so funny!
She finally warmed up to the place and LOVED when we put her directly into a fountain. She would laugh SO hard!

We cant wait to go back!! This time we will go to the playground before she gets soaked!

Justice For Caylee

Ive been watching this case from almost the beginning and feel so strongly about it. I feel so bad that this poor baby will never get the justice she deserved. I have no idea what 12 of the dumbest people on earth were thinking. How on earth is not reporting your child missing for 31 days not considered child abuse? There is alot more I'd like to say about this but I will keep my opinion to myself. Casey Anthony will walk free next week. Its sick if you ask me. In honor of Caylee and her memory sign the petition I have added so hopefully maybe one day we could make not reporting your child missing a federal offense.

The 4th!

We had a really nice 4th of July weekend- it's always so nice to have an extra day! We really didn't do too much. Jeremy worked...alot. We spent alot of time with family & friends! Monday was a really nice day. Linds & Matt stayed with us Sunday night so Monday morning Matt went on a donut run for us & Lindsay & I were glued to the tv watching the closing arguments for the Casey Anthony trial. I've been addicted to it. Such a sad story. We cleaned up & went to my parents to cook out. Their neighborhood had a bounce house up at the pool so we took H up there. She did pretty good in it! I was surprised!
Not much else to report- back to the grind....already for the weekend!

My sister will kill me for this but I couldn't resist. She loved mustangs when she was like 12 (you're probably thinking the same thing I was! Ha! Sorry linds!) Not only did she love mustangs but she wanted one of those power wheels so bad! So bad that she still brings it up that she never got one! So when we saw this gem sitting outside the pool I couldn't resist!!

where have I been?

Ive been updating my new blog so much Ive been forgetting about this one! We've been busy though- I thought June was my slow month...turns out it was busy but fun! Im hoping July will slow down, but if its busy too that's ok!
We've had a couple more house showings since the terrible offer...I guess it just makes for a clean house. Ive been taking some pictures for some friends, that's always fun for me! We have 2 first birthday parties this weekend and we have some family in town from Virginia, California and Mississippi! We are looking forward to a relaxing cookout at my parents house on Monday to celebrate the 4th. Then a short work week- nothing better than that!
I LOVE this girl. I mean she is so juicy I could just eat her up!!! She has been battling her eye teeth for what feels like forever. So we have had some off nights but the last two mornings she has woken up so happy and delicious. I know she hates how much I kiss her :)

the birthday girl!
