cant catch a break!

We have a sick child- AGAIN!!!!!!! OMG! That poor baby hasn't been well since Christmas. I should have known when I dropped her off on Friday and they said that Liam was out with a stomach bug that Hannah would catch it too! Sure enough- Saturday around 3:00 I went into her room to check on her during her nap and the smell about knocked me out. Sorry- TMI- but she had thrown up everywhere. I just felt so bad for her. I then wondered how long she had been sleeping in it. She threw up several more times after that. But she was SOOO good this weekend. She was the happiest and most playful I had seen her in a long time. Sunday she got the other end of it. Poor Baby! We had to take her to daycare today (she was feeling better) but I got a call at 2:00. So we will be home with her tomorrow too. I just feel bad for her because she has all the symptoms but really has been so happy! Now....I have it. I woke up at 2 am- throwing up. I hate that. Im a big baby when it comes to getting sick like that. I think that's why Jeremy chose to sleep in the other room :) These viral things just get passed around until eventually everyone gets them!

Friday night we had all my family over for dinner- it was so fun! Saturday I had lunch with a great friend, then we were planning on having my mom watch Hannah for some adult time with my sis and Matt and some friends but we ended up home with Hannah and her poor little bug :( We just cant catch a break on all this stuff. I think she should be immune to pretty much everything now!

We are going to Indy this weekend for a much needed adult weekend with some friends- Im excited! However, their daughter has RSV right now and I told her- we HAVE to leave town with healthy babies!! This is so hard!

This weekend we were singing or listening to music with Hannah and we started snapping- I looked down and she was trying to snap. I swear it was cuter than the sign language- or equally as cute because the sign language is adorable. But OMG- picture her making the snap movements with her chubby little fingers. ADORABLE! She just gets cuter and sweeter everyday. Things like that make me feel like I could handle 4 kids....then she wakes up at 2 am.....and I think one little one is ok :)

We had a breakout Sunday night to grab some dinner and Hannah was practicing her artistic talents :)

a true gift!

we have received the BEST gift- its not something you buy but it is better than anything you could find in a store! My grandparents moved here from SAN DIEGO this past weekend! They have lived there for as long as I can remember. We have so many amazing memories from their San Diego house but they are here now and we couldn't be happier! My parents spent all last week in CA helping them pack up and after months of preparing for their move- they are here! And we LOVE IT! It was so fun to tell them "Welcome HOME!" when they arrived! What awesome words! We usually saw them at least once a year with our trips to CA but knowing they are just down the street is a dream come true! I never would have imagined they would leave warm, sunny San Diego but they wanted to see Hannah grow up and I am so thankful for that. We have already seen them so much this week- they might be wondering if they will ever get some alone time! HA! Their moving truck wont be here until next week- so until then they are tucked away in an awesome hotel and we have little adventures for them almost everyday. Tonight we all met at Havana Rumba (an awesome Cuban restaurant) and let them get to know Hannah even better. Last time they saw her she was 10 weeks old- a big difference now! Grammy and Bumpah are two of the best people I know and knowing they get to watch Hannah grow up puts a HUGE smile on our faces!!

this was the view from their back porch- Im sure that was SO hard to leave but we are so excited they will now call KY home!

doing great

Hannah did really well this morning. I felt bad for her though- we had to be there at 6:30- surgery wasn't until 7:30 and she was hungry and restless! but they got her back on time- gave her some laughing gas and literally 16 minutes later they came out to tell us she was done! its amazing what they can do. they gave her a couple minutes to wake up and we got to go back and see her. she was a little cranky- that's to be expected but we let her eat and she was just a little groggy on the way home. Jeremy was holding her in recovery and I just couldn't help but look at her and thank God that she is a healthy baby. I just cant imagine how scary and hard it is for families that have to watch their children go through serious illnesses and surgeries. I never want to take our health for granted. We have so much to be thankful for.
happy before surgery! put her in this car to keep her occupied!
recovering in daddy's arms
She seems to be back to her normal self- playing and eating like nothing happened! I think she has been babbling a whole lot more- maybe because she can finally hear herself!
she was playing and laughing so I thought I might try and get in some pictures! I can hardly get any pictures after work because she goes to bed so early!

tomorrow

we go in for Hannah's tubes- I don't know who is more excited- me or Jeremy :) I'm looking forward to spending the day with Hannah- I'm hoping she will be all sleepy and cuddly- but she probably wont miss a beat and will just wonder why she's not at daycare!
we had a nice weekend- pretty uneventful but nice! we have been enjoying some awesome weather lately and Jeremy was able to get out on the golf course for the first time this year- middle of February might be a record! He also had to work Saturday morning- which is why I have a love/hate relationship with nice weather. We miss him on Saturday mornings!! So Hannah and I spent the day playing and took several rides in the wagon. I tried to get some pictures of her outside but she moves to darn fast for me! She is not interested in my camera!!

spaghetti & daycare boyfriends

someone is becoming a MUCH better eater! she is much more into dinner and eats most everything we give her. At daycare they say she will sit at the table and eat everything until its gone (thats how she keeps her rolly figure of course!) They also said she and Liam (her little daycare boyfriend who is too cute for words!) they sit at the table and eat very slowly together and eat every last bite. All the other kids gobble their food up and go play- my guess is- they are having their own little lunch date :)
Hannah and Liam have been in the same class since she started at Evergreen in August and we have always joked they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Her teacher told me the other day that they have to put Hannah and Liam's sleeping mats next to eachother because if they arent next to eachother they keep popping up and looking to see where the other one is...UH OH! We have our hands full!
Anyways- onto dinner...someone gobbled up some spaghetti last night! She loved it! We stripped her down knowing it would get a messy! Right after she ate we gave her a bath and she couldnt keep her eyes open. This was 5:15!! So you guessed it- she went to bed at 5:15 and is still asleep as I write this....someone plays a little to hard at daycare...and I miss my baby :(

See her little friend waiting for leftovers!!

snacks in the wagon

Ive been trying to make the best of this awesome weather we've been having and the hour and a half we get with Hannah each night (yes- the last two nights she has gone to bed at 6!) So...by the time we get home and fix dinner...its about bed time. Last night and tonight I stuck her in the wagon, handed her some ritz crackers and her sippy cup and pulled her up the street! She loved it. Im not sure if she loved the crackers or her wagon more. You be the judge.....

I'm going with the crackers- seeing as though she has one in each hand!

love

we love this girl more than we ever thought possible. our world is such a better place with her in it!
my little heart breaker!
practicing "more" (or asking for more breakfast!)

looking at her new valentines book- as long as it plays music she is a happy girl!

this is also the 8th valentines day that jeremy and I have spent together....if I had a little more energy tonight Id love to pull a picture from the past. we've had such an amazing 8 years together- it has flown by. I am so lucky to have such a patient, loving, sweet husband....he puts up with me...enough said!

its been a long couple of weeks in our house. Hannah hasn't been herself. I know its a combination of teeth and her ears- but when we pick her up from daycare- she is a different baby. I drop off this happy, fun, laughing baby and pick up a tired, hungry and not so happy baby. Ive been struggling with the fact that I get about 30 minutes with her in the mornings, about 2 hours at night (before she crashes at 6:30 because she cant keep her eyes open). Out of a 24 hour day, we maybe get 3 good hours with her. It literally breaks my heart. There is no way around it- we both provide for this family but its hard on me. Some days are harder than others but today was hard. From the time I picked her up until about the time she went to bed she wasn't very happy. I know a lot of this will hopefully be fixed on Monday when she gets tubes but its just so sad to me that someone else gets to spend the better part of her day with her. sorry for the pity party....it just gets me down sometimes. Needless to say- we are buying a couple tickets for the 100 million dollar lottery!!!!

Happy V-Day!

sponge

hannah is a little sponge these days- she catches onto things to so quickly and loves repeating the things we do! I love watching her learn new things and the look on her face after she does it- she is so proud of herself! as she should be!
she has been learning sign language at daycare and watching her do it and actually knowing she understands what she is doing is the NEATEST thing! The one sign she is best at is "more". (that is how she keeps her rolly figure!). When she wants more snack or more of anything she puts her little fingers together and signs more. It is SOOO fun to watch! The teachers in her class say she signs some other things but more seems to be the one she repeats the most! We are working on please, thank you and no. Thank you seems to look like she is blowing a kiss- so last week when we thought we taught her how to blow a kiss (she might have been saying thank you!)

Here she is blowing a kiss (or saying thank you!)

somebody is getting...

tubes on the 21st! YAY! Can you feel my excitement? Maybe its because we have already met our deductible with our little trip in a very expensive ambulance and a 3 hour ($1700) stay in the hospital but the real reason for the excitement is that I want this little girl to feel better! I feel so bad for her that she pretty much has fluid build up all the time and the pain in her ears has to be so hard on her. I had an ear infection recently (so random, Ive never had ear problems) and oh man did it hurt! I cant imagine how she feels. I do have to remind myself that even with tubes babies can still get ear infections but hopefully we wont have as many! She is such a trooper though- she is as happy as she can be with those poor little ears!
So in a week and a half we will head to the surgery center bright and early- they give her a little laughing gas- insert tubes- and 15 minutes later they are done! She can most likely go back to daycare the next day! We are seeing one of my dads surgeons so I know we are in great hands. And hopefully we are on the road to better ears!!
Hannah doing one of her favorite things....eating cheerios!
peeking around me to see her daddy...yep TOTAL daddy's girl!

first birthday party pictures!

all 130 of them! it might take a while to get through this whole slideshow but I finally got it up!! ENJOY!

Sunday, February 6, 2011

and finally....a party!

We celebrated Hannah's first birthday on Saturday and had so much fun! She was feeling a lot better and even ate her cupcake :) She wasn't as messy as I thought she would be- which made clean up a little easier! I figured we'd have to wash her down in the tub! Maybe she likes to be clean and tidy like me. It was a great time- I wish I had more time to sit and relax- I felt like I was running around like a wild woman- but it was great! We were so blessed with friends and family to celebrate Hannah's birthday and she received the sweetest and cutest things from everyone-and now we really do need a bigger house :)

(after I typed this I had every intention of uploading a slideshow with 144 of my favorite pictures...ha!) However I cannot for the life of me figure out an easy way to do it. I have been sitting here for so long and Im giving up :( I cant even decide on 10 pictures that I want to upload...my brain is fried!! (I will take ANY slideshow suggestions!)

I will upload this one- it is my absolute favorite! She just looks so perfect here. This girl melts my heart. I love every minute with her, I love holding her as long as she'll let me and watching her grow into the funniest little toddler. She has a wild, spunky personality that I cant get enough of!
I lied- I had to upload this one, she is so darn funny!!!

so far so good....

Hannah seems to be getting better each day- she is tolerating breathing treatments, sleeping better (somewhat), and still the picky eater she was before all of this! We go back to the doctor tomorrow morning to see make sure she is good and healthy (fingers crossed!). I am interested to see what they say...and I cant wait to talk more about getting tubes in her ears. But lately we have just been laying low and playing around the house. My mother-in-law came in town to help us for the last couple of days and she and Hannah got plenty of play time in!! It was so nice having her here!

it reached 50 degrees on saturday so we decided to get H out for some fresh air (we needed it too!)
