New (to us)!

Our search has ended- thankfully! Buying a car is stressful. I hate stepping on to a car lot. Luckily we knew our car salesman through my dad & he was good to work with. We got a Toyota Highlander & I'm very happy with it! Only a few things I really wanted- third row seating, rear air, & tinted windows- my Camry didn't have them & poor Hannah would get so hot. That is why we def needed rear air. And I love the color- it's my favorite. I'm SO thankful.
I'm going to drive this thing until it can't drive anymore!

back to life!

Illness has swept through this house like wildfire!! I was home with Hannah on Monday (nasty daycare virus), Jeremy came home sick with a 24 hour stomach flu, then it hit me about 3 am. Tuesdsay was seriously one of the sickest days I can even remember. I could barely function. Let alone take care of a very hyper 19 month old. I was mom of the year- we watched alot of tv and she ate as many snacks as she could point to. WOW. It was so bad. Thankfully my sweet hubby came home at noon- Im sure when I called him I sounded like death. I slept for 3 hours. I woke up and still felt terrible. I really didnt start feeling better until this morning. I needed a day off of work but not that bad! WHEW! We are all back to normal, back to our routines which we needed. Thankfully tomorrow is already Thursday (I could get used to 3 day work weeks!)
I cant believe August is almost over! September is a big birthday month in our family- this will be my last year in my 20's! What an awesome decade it has been :)

Im also very ready for Fall! Cool, crisp nights, chili, and caramel apple ciders from Starbucks! YUM!

One thing that makes me smile this week- when Hannah does sign language to Ruby and thinks that she understands it :) I cant tell you how many times Hannah tells Ruby "no" in sign language! I cant help but laugh!!

road trip weekend & some new things around the house!

we have had a nice little weekend! Friday we went to look at cars- its time to move on from the family sedan- I need more room! I hate to get a gas guzzler but surprisingly we have equity in my car and it seems like the time is right. Now finding what I want is not as easy as I thought! We will keep looking but not as fun as I had planned!
Saturday my mom and I made a serious road trip to IKEA- I say serious because you have to be serious about IKEA if you are going to sit in traffic for 3.5 hours. About an hour and a half of it we did not move! It was seriously painful. I dont have alot of patience but once we got there I was glad! That place is so great. I had a mission to get some storage/organization items for my craft closet- and I did! We found some great things! We had a really great time- shopping, eating, and more shopping- it was great! Jeremy and Hannah headed to Owensboro for their own little road trip and had a great time seeing Jeremys family. He was brave to take her 4 hours in the car- I can barely get to daycare without a fit!
This morning I took pictures for a little boys first birthday and after that my mom and I pulled everything out of the closet. The guest room is scary looking! But we found the perfect table that will stay in the closet but I can pull it out to work on it. I cant wait to get it finished! Tonight we had plans to see my cousin and her daughter who is 2 months older than Hannah but what do you know- Hannah has something!! Its been a while- I guess its time. Ill be taking her to the doctor tomorrow and having a little sick day with my girl. We also got a new chair for the family room. Our loveseat has basically turned into Ruby's dog bed. I know that is so gross- but it was awful and we needed something new. I was so embarrassed to even have people sit on it! So now we just have a chair in the corner which actually opens up the family room. I love it! I really dont have any pictures from this weekend- hopefully I can post a picture of my new closet soon!
A couple funny things Hannah is doing- she says "mummy" for yummy or mum for yum- its so funny! She loves to say ta-da. She throws her arms open and says ta da! She is a mess! She didnt want to eat any breakfast on Friday so we tried several things just to get her to eat- and one was her eating with her tray on the floor. That didnt even work. I hated that she went hungry- I guess it explains whatever this bug is!!

and isnt this hilarious! We found these at IKEA they are almost like smocks but its actually a bib! Its perfect when she has on a cute outfit- we dont want to her to get dirty! Of course Im sure something will get through!!

My Best Friend

Hannah & I are best buds- we spend alot of time together, we share secrets & do alot of shopping together! If Hannah had it her way we would just eat & play all day long! I wouldn't really mind that :) today my best bud looked like a big girl going to her new class. I hope she has alot of fun today!

She can't wait to go in! Everyday we get out of the car she says, "bag" because she wants to hold her OWN bag! Miss independent!

biggest girl I know!

Hannah has been doing alot of big girl things lately- climbing into the carseat entirely on her own, feeds herself her breakfast all by herself with minimal mess, points to herself and says "hannah" (sounds like a mixture between Nana and Banana) but she knows who SHE is! She points to the neighbors golden retrievers and says "Ruby", and she will go into a dark bathroom, close the door, and knock while we play the "where's Hannah?" game. She loves it. As I know she is getting bigger, smarter, and more independent its still tugs at my heart to know she is not a baby anymore. She will never be as little as she was last week, or yesterday even. But Friday sealed the deal- her teacher in school told me she was moving to the next classroom- a little early. They said she is really smart and picks up on things so well that she needs longer circle time and needs to start learning things like, shapes. Shapes??? But shes a BABY!?!? So she is moving on- like Wednesday. I was not prepared for this. I wanted to squeeze her and was so proud of her but then I held back tears as I realized this was just another milestone. I felt so happy for her and just down right proud of my daughter. It seems like something so little to be so excited about but I felt at that moment exactly how I know I will feel when she makes straight A's or makes the cheerleading team (knowing Hannah she will want to play Rugby or lacrosse! Ha ha). But I just could not have hugged her harder. She's a big girl now. As much as we LOVE watching her learn new things or understanding everything we say its hard to believe how big she is. Sometimes I pick her up and hold her like a baby- she hates it. But today its the closest I will get to how she was 18 months ago. So soft, cuddly and snuggly. She is still so soft, not so cuddly or snuggly but she is all mine and I couldnt be more proud of her :) We have our moments (lots of them) like when I need to go upstairs and walk away for a minute into a quiet room but I wouldnt trade any of this for anything in the world. She couldnt make me happier or more proud : )

night at the park

we had a house showing last night- so Jeremy & Ruby went into work to do a couple things so Hannah and I went to the park. I attempted some pictures- Hannah ate goldfish and read "la la" (her Elmo book). Then we went to look at the ducks, the baby fish, and played on the playground. The weather was beautiful! Prettiest night we have had in a LONG time!

she wont smile on cue anymore :( I tell her to do cheese and I get a BIG silly grin!

LOVE those legs!!
tired of my camera!

Who needs eye teeth anyways?

I can't say I use mine very much- if I had my way I'd say we don't really need eye teeth. All they do is cause serious pain in children & make mommy want to pull her hair out. These things are never going to come in, at least it feels like they are taking forever. Now she's not eating. Barely ate all day yesterday, & hardly any breakfast this morning. Poor girl. She just holds her mouth in pain. These are awful! Maybe hers are huge & that's why we are having these problems. My mom warned me that these teeth would change personalities & I have to agree. Where is my sweet loving little Hannah??
Anyways, On another note we had a nice weekend but I have to say I crashed. I've been going non-stop & finally crashed. We didn't do much & it felt so good. Here are a few random pictures from our week!

We stopped at a park near us to let Hannah swing & she had fun. She holds on for dear life though, it's cute.

Where on earth does she get this stuff?? This is how she ate her strawberries one morning. This girl is seriously going to be a class clown!

And what on earth can I do with this hair?? I want to let it grow but it's a little out of hand!
I hope everyone has a great week- I'm praying it cools down for my poor hubby who works long hours in this awful heat!

Ready for school!

Hannah loves carrying her lunch bag into school. It's our new routine & Hannah loves routine. Well- maybe she doesn't love it- I use that word loosely because sometimes we have no routine at all! But some things we do every morning. Every morning we get dressed & put "bun bun", blankie & her paci back in her crib. We can't leave her room until they are all safely in her crib & she says bye bye to them. We always say bye bye to the bath when she gets out & we cuddle in our bed for a few minutes before we put her in her bed. We always listen to Hannah's music on the way to school- it puts the biggest smile on her face. Most days I sing right along then I pull into work just realizing I've been singing the wheels on the bus for 15 minutes! This is our routine for now & it will change but I love her funny little habits. They put a big smile on my face!!

hannie pants

I saw that nickname somewhere and I loved it! Here is my sweet Hannie pants....I attempted to use crackle paint on a chair a friend had given me- it didnt work so well. But at least the color of the chair is a little more interesting now than the boring brown it was. I had Hannah sit in it for a couple minutes outside tonight- and my sweet hubby played my assistant.

I loved this one in b & w too!

yep- thats my hannie pants!

Already this week Ive been very productive...and by week I mean the 5 hours I have each night before I crash. Ive gotten 2 embroidery orders done, organized the disaster tupperware cabinet, painted the chair, took some pictures of H, made a dessert for work (Ive been telling everyone about those amazing oreo bars!) and managed to squeeze in the Bachelorette finale...I know, I know- it was a waste of 2 hours! Not to mention we had several "ring around the rosie" dance parties with H. She loves that. And will spin and spin until she is walking sideways!

Its almost my bedtime! Goodnight!
