Lovely long weekend!!

I started this weekend off right by taking Friday off! Such a good decision :) Thankfully since we have half day Fridays every other week, I can take a half day of vacation and get the whole day off! Thursday night we took the kids to Trick or Treating at the Zoo- we met the Flynn's there and the girls were too cute in their costumes. Not to mention the little sugar high they both had! Mainly because everytime they got candy they wanted it opened right then- funny girls! Owen was such a trooper too!

She wanted to be a ghost so we made it happen! And she has a pretty scary boo!

Sweet little skeleton!

Love Sunday morning breakfast- waffles with strawberries & whip cream!

He is seriously delicious!

Working on sitting up!

Friday Jeremy took the kids to school which is such a huge help! He is officially the guy in the jeep with TWO carseats :) Im sure he feels pretty cool pulling up to daycare in his soccer dad jeep! After they left I told myself I would lay back down for a little bit then get up and get the day started. I had errands to run and plans to organize my craft room (its a small disaster area!). But when I woke up- it was ELEVEN!! Yes you read that right, almost noon! I cant even tell you the last time that happened. Maybe college? I mean seriously. I woke up almost panicked because I had no idea what was going on! Lol! It was just a weird feeling- then I was kinda bummed that I had wasted my morning. But I guess I really needed it- the sleepless nights were catching up with me!! Jeremy spent Friday at Keeneland betting some horses and won some money! I was glad about that- that never happens!
Saturday morning we took Owen to the dr for this awful rash on his neck. Its been there for a month and after thinking it was just moisture from milk and drool we thought it was time to be seen. We got some awesome cream for it and literally in 24 hours its pretty much gone. Im going to hang on to that stuff! And that BIG BOY gained one pound in 2.5 weeks. Solid boy who loves to eat!
That night we carved pumpkins, made a delicious dinner (we cooked steaks in the oven- Pinterest inspired of course! This might be how we cook steaks from now on) and enjoyed some family time watching one of Hannah's "movies".
She was hilarious this weekend- she has been VERY in to Flashcards lately. She loves quizzing us!! I just absolutely love watching that sweet little girl learn. It makes me so proud. Not only does she love flashcards but also the book of the weekend was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Obsessed. And she tries doing the alphabet in sign language as she is reading it. Makes my heart smile to watch her. She grabbed one of Jeremy's books (pretty sure it was about Mickey Mantle) but she makes up her own stories. I love watching her imagination grow. At one point she was saying, "God is great, God is good, Amen." Then she was talking about God opening the gates and then moved on to how Owen needed to go to bed but Hannah didnt. Ive noticed lately how grown up she has gotten. There is such a HUGE difference between 2 and 3. Its amazing. The stuff she says, how she acts, how she can be so helpful (but then so not!) but overall she is just growing up before my eyes!!
Fingers crossed we MIGHT be on the right track getting Owen back to sleeping through the night. Well, at least not having to wake to eat. The dr assured us at his appointment that he is clearly getting plenty to eat and has now just gotten so used to waking to eat that it might take a couple of rough nights but he CAN get through the night without eating. So all day Saturday we just fed and fed and fed him. Sounds bad but he needs to get plenty of ounces during the day so that he doesnt need them at night. I think I only fed him a couple times for a very short period of time just to get him back to sleep. Then last night I just basically held him all night but he didnt eat once! That is a huge accomplishment!! I definitely feel a little more rested not having to feed him all night. We shall see how this goes!
LONG week ahead but it is Halloween week! I am going to help with Hannah's class party on Wednesday- Im looking forward to it!

Let's eat!

We finally gave Owen some cereal the other night- sadly we had planned on doing it when he turned 5 months but things got busy, nights get crazy & we just now started it! I'm not sure how he felt about it. He didn't spit it right out but I'm not sure how much made it in! One thing I do know- Hannah is obsessed with feeding him too. We told her we were going to give him some cereal so she ran & grabbed the Cheerios :) she really & truly LOVES him. It's one of the sweetest things!! We will keep trying cereal & see how he does before we try something else. I have a feeling H will want to go back to eating baby food :)

Hmmmm...

I'm ready to try it again!

We might need two highchairs!?!

5 sweet years.

This weekend Jeremy and I celebrate 5 awesome years together. An amazing wedding, incredible honeymoon, 2 beautiful homes, 2 of the most amazing, beautiful children you could ever ask for and 5 years married to my best friend. I couldnt be more thankful for Jeremy as a husband and especially the father of our children. Im thankful for his patience, his sense of humor, the passion he has for his career, his work ethic, the love of his children, and putting up with me for the past 5 years! I look so forward to our future because I have such a supportive, kind, hardworking hubby.
Love you Babe- and thank you for everything you give our family!!
 October 20th 2007- a beautiful- 75 degree day!!
Negril, Jamaica- fabulous honeymoon! Wish we were going back :)

Hannah & Owen on their birthdays- The absolute best days of our life!

First home we built- second home we remodeled. Brought Hannah home to one and Owen home to the other. So many memories!

Gallrein Farm & our weekend!

I always write a weekend re-cap post & alot of times it doesn't get published. Too busy, don't have the energy- you get the picture! Friday I picked up Jeremy from the airport...he had been in Phoenix for work since Monday evening. Holy cow- how did I make it the entire week. Well with help of course! So thankful to my mom & friends who acted as "Hannah distractors" for the week! You know how your kids act better for everyone else! We missed him & were so glad to have him HOME! I hated being home alone- I had chairs wedged under doors & all kinds of lights on at night LOL!
Saturday he had to work almost all day so my mom & I made another trip out to Gallrein Farms with the kids. I really love that place. Closer than Hubers, quaint, clean, just perfect! Hannah loved it too. She loves petting/ feeding the animals & riding the ponies. Not a huge fan of picking pumpkins- would rather ride the tractor all day :)
Sunday we went to All About Kids open gym. Great place to wear kids out- that's where hannah was swinging on that bar. We will be back! Then drove to the airport for the second time that weekend to pick up Jeremy's suitcase which still had not made it to the airport. Thankfully our airport isn't far but it's just a pain! We enjoyed a relaxing weekend & I'm already ready for this weekend! We have the Fall Festival at Hannah & Owen's school then, family pictures on Saturday on our 5 year wedding anniversary :) I think that will be so fun to look back on how far we've come in 5 years! Then Halloween family dinner (my mother might love Halloween more than any other holiday! Her license plate says "Witchy 1" ha ha!) then Sunday we will have brunch with everyone & go out somewhere that night for our anniversary- maybe even a movie :) bring on Friday!!

This was from our first trip- she loved it!

Our second trip out there. First trip she wouldn't feed the goats!

Sweetest angel!

Her new obsession- making leaf pictures with all the leaves from the deck & glue of course!

She only liked feeding the "little ones" :)

5 months!

Owen kicked off being 5 months old with a double ear infection...poor little guy!! But I will have to say- even though I knew he didnt feel good, we assumed it was a nasty cold or allergies- you would have never known it was his ears. I was shocked when he said both ears. I guess our kids are just blessed with bad ears :( Lets go ahead and get those tubes in NOW! Ha ha! He has not been sleeping well for the past 3 weeks (Im so tired, I feel like I have a newborn again) but I guess we can attribute most of that to this cold and now his ears. Im so glad I took him in because Im hoping this antibiotic will work and we will start sleeping past 1:15 am!! I think our problem now is that since he started waking with the sniffles I would just go ahead and feed him cause its easy and it usually put him back to sleep. Well now he thinks 1 am and 4 am its time to eat! Not sure how we will get out of this habit! I know it wont last forever, it just feels like it sometimes.
Even though we had to go, I was glad to get Owen's weight- he is 17.6 pounds! He is on the Hannah track- ha ha!
These days- at 5 months old he is:
17.6 pounds
Size 3 diapers
Clothes- 6 months are pretty snug so mostly 9 month clothes
Rolling to his side- hasnt mastered rolling over yet
Eating 4.5 ounces every 3-4 hours. He really only gets bottles at daycare so Im not sure how much he usually takes in. At daycare he eats 3 4.5 oz bottles. I know he is definitely not starving!
He is cooing and talking all over the place!
I love watching him stare at his hands. That has always fascinated me about babies. I wonder what they are thinking as they watch this big hand come towards their faces!
I cant say he is sleeping through the night anymore but he was!
He loves the excersaucer and grabs onto everything. When I take pictures of him with my phone there is always an arm in the way cause he is reaching up at me.
He also LOVES pulling Hannah's hair. Which she cries and says, "I dont like that!" I usually laugh even though I shouldnt :)
He is still so calm and patient. Im SO thankful for such a great baby. He has blessed us in so many amazing ways. Even with a double ear infection he has been SO sweet!!

Family, friends & birthdays!

We had a great weekend that was non stop and filled with family and friends, but it was alot of fun! Friday was my half day- I used to spend my half days shopping at Loft, grabbing lunch with friends or doing some sort of project but now I spend it at the grocery store. Kinda sad but its the only time I have to myself to get that kind of stuff done. So I am extremely thankful for my half days! I came home and cleaned a little then we went to a friends house to see some friends we had not seen in a while. It was a great time. There were 9 kids and 9 adults- it sure was a houseful! But I love that stuff. I absolutely love getting the kids together with friends and their kids. There is nothing better than shouting over screaming kids just to talk to the person next to you :)

Almost all of the kids- baby chandler was sleeping. Even Owen sat with the big kids!

Saturday we had soccer- Hannah and Emma are getting better at each practice- although at some point they both looked like dancing fairies. It was too funny! After soccer we headed to breakfast with the Flynns- of course after having breakfast with Hannah you are pretty much exhausted! Ha ha! Its definitely alot of work. We noticed that our conversations have definitely changed- we find ourselves saying things we didnt think we would say- get your feet off the table, dont pick your nose- you get the picture :)
After breakfast we put Hannah down for a nap and decided we would head up to Owensboro Saturday night instead of Sunday for Jeremy's bday. It is ALOT of work traveling with two kids for one night. And hard work! We also were able to see Jeremys old high school friend Matt and his family. They have 3 kids under 3- talk about hard work! They just had a sweet little boy who is 5 weeks old. Im so glad we were finally able to meet their new babies!

Happy birthday Daddy!

Jeremy's bday card- Pinterest inspired of course!!

Her new favorite thing is to have Owen lay in her bed with her in the mornings- along with her 17 books, 4 blankets, and 3 babies :)

Owen hasnt been sleeping very well...well, he has been sleeping but he has been waking to eat ever 3 or so hours. Feels like we are back to the newborn days! And Saturday night was really bad. I think he woke every 2 hours and we didnt get to sleep until almost midnight which is WAY past my bedtime :) So Sunday I was so exhausted I was almost at the point of feeling sick. Im not sure Ill ever catch up on sleep! We celebrated Jeremys bday- he is 32!! We were counting last night and we have celebrated 10 birthdays together. Im so thankful for the husband and dad that he is for us.
Owensboro is only 2 hours away but its amazing how long that can seem when Hannah is crying for almost 40 minutes. I thought we had both kids asleep and I was ready to close my eyes then Owen woke and then Hannah woke and it was all over! I think she was way too tired and the fact that we couldnt get service on my phone for her to watch her songs- wheels on the bus, twinkle twinkle, etc. I mean seriously- how on earth do you explain "no service" to a 2 year old!!
We finally got home and crashed!! I wish I had today off to recover but its back to reality...it will be a big coffee morning!!
