It's Wednesday...

and well thats really about it. This has been one of the slowest weeks of my life only because I am literally like counting the seconds until I get to leave and head to the house. Not that I really do very much when Im over there but at least Im there and I can make lists of all the things left to do. The carpet was finished yesterday and it looks AMAZING. I am so in love with it. I am so happy with our choice and its soft and new and clean! Its just wonderful! It actually felt like our house. We brought Hannah's toys up from the basement and put them in her new playroom, I swear she LOVED it. She just played and played and pushed her babies around and read them books. She is such a little mother. I can see her playing school just like I did- making all the little neighbor kids sit down and take tests. Ha ha! And look who did not grow up to be a teacher. Of course, I still really dont know what I want to be :) Jeremy worked over there all day yesterday, thanfully it was a beautiful day and he was able to get down alot of things in the backyard that needed to come down. The big huge yellow dumpster will be gone tomorrow (Im sure our neighbors will be SO happy) and the PODS come Friday. Of course Im not sure which is worse, big yellow dumpster or two HUGE Pods. Either way, it means move in weekend for us and it cant come soon enough. Even though I hate to cook I just cant wait to get in that kitchen and start cooking up some delicious Pinterest meals. It really does feel like home. I love looking down the hallway way at a pink room and a blue room. We have been so blessed and I am just so grateful. I never want to take things like this for granted- I know how quickly life can change.
On another note- I dont have any pictures of the rooms with all the carpet in place (I have plenty from yesterday around noon where the carpet is just all over the place) but I will have to get those uploaded tonight. There arent enough hours in the day. Or its probably because I go to bed way too early.
I hope everyone else makes it through this day rather quickly- you know Im dying to get to the house!

Move in weekend is THIS weekend!

I am SOOO excited that we are finally getting to unload our pods and move into our house this weekend! I still get VERY overwhelmed when I walk into the house and see all that is left to do but I think a huge part of that is because there isnt any carpet. Once the carpet is installed (TOMORROW!) then it will really look like a house and not a construction zone with tools everywhere. Jeremy has worked like a dog over there and so has my mom. I have to give both of them so much credit- they have really made this house our home. Its coming together so beautifully and I cant wait to get in there. I am SO thankful we had our cabinets painted by professionals. They worked for 3.5 days straight on them, it would have taken us weeks! I absolutely LOVE the black and the way it turned out. The appliances make it look even more rich. They're just beautiful! Appliances were delivered on Friday- it really started looking like our kitchen. Jeremy put all the doors on the cabinets on Saturday and moved the island back in place and we now have a kitchen! YAY!

Here is the kitchen with appliances & the cabinets painted.

Here it is with everything put back together & island in place. I love the way it turned out!

This is the before picture of the family room. Obviously it needed some updating. We are almost there!

Here it is as Jeremy is in the middle of priming & getting ready to paint it. It will look like a different room. We already think it looks better. See what I mean about a construction zone!

And just because she is so sweet :)

House updates & my playdoh eating child!

Im so glad its finally Friday and my half day at that! Hoping to get some things done for the house today and this weekend. I look at my calendar and everyday has something to do for the house. We get our appliances today, the kitchen cabinets were finished yesterday, my mom and Jeremy started the first coats on the kids rooms and we made decisions on the kids bathroom. Not a priority but Im glad we have that decided on. More pressing things are like a floor for the master bathroom, carpet- coming Tuesday!! I couldnt be more excited for that!! New toilets, quarter round for the floors, you name it we need to finish it!!
Im hoping to have our pods delivered Wednesday or Thursday and start moving in!! YAY!! I cannot wait to get settled. I know it will take a while to get into a real routine but we are so ready. I know my parents arent going to be sad to say goodbye to Ruby. That dog has been so bad lately and will get into everything she can find. Im not sure she will ever grow up. It causes me a lot of stress but hopefully she will like the new house and not chew everything we own.
I cannot wait to see what everything looks like all moved in and decorated. I have such a vision for the house and cant wait to see it come together. Ill have pictures for sure!
Last night Hannie and I played with Playdoh until she decided to eat it and in true Hannah fashion wouldnt listen to me about not eating it. Im pretty sure its non toxic! That girl is something else though- she is as strong willed as they come. I should have told her to eat the playdoh and then she wouldnt have!! Regardless we had fun making snakes with our playdoh and eating some along the way :)

28 weeks!

Everything is still going really well. Just the usual to report- growing and growing! Some days I feel huge then others I feel like Im doing pretty good. I went back to the dr today for my gluclose test...Yuck! I failed the first test with Hannah and passed the second but the 4 hour test was just miserable. Im pretty sure I cried sitting there waiting for them to take my blood 4 times. Oh gosh I hated it. I sure hope I dont have to go through that again but if I do, I do! Everything else is going great. Im definitely into all maternity pants but can still pull off some of my tops. Im actually enjoying stretchy clothes and just letting my belly hang out there! This pregnancy has absolutely FLOWN by. I mean the first 17 weeks were very hard. Being that sick was such a challenge with a toddler running around but after I got past all that, it has been so much better. I cant even believe Ill be off work in about 2 months. WOW! I cant tell you how excited I am for that. I do get pretty nervous about the c-section and nervous about getting Hannah to school and the stairs in our house but Im not the first person to do it! I know we have so much help around us, but it still makes me get a little anxious sometimes!!
Once we hold our precious little guy it will make it all ok. I cant wait to have a newborn again. I know it will be very tiring but they are just so sweet. Im looking so forward to our summer off together! Yesterday I bought him a few things- I feel like I havent been shopping in AGES! I also got Hannah some pants with pockets. Boy does that girl love pockets. Probably so she can hide her snacks in them :)
I start going back to the dr every 2 weeks now. I just cant believe we are at that point. Its very surreal! With this pregnancy we will be doing all those bio physical profiles and ultrasounds again...Im very happy about that! I dont mind seeing him every 2 weeks at all!!
Im sure hoping Hannah loves being a big sister. I think the other day she actually said yes that she wanted a little brother. Maybe she is coming around to the idea!

Here I am at 28 weeks- I do think this is the same outfit I was wearing in my last pic. Obviously it's very comfy :) I'm all about comfort right now!

My precious little babe. She was enjoying some goldfish on our way home from daycare. If you don't have a snack or wheels on the bus playing you're going to hear about it!! :)

she's getting so big

When I dropped Hannah of at school this morning- Im not going to lie, her hair was a big out of control mess! I hate to say that about my beautiful daughter but she REFUSES to have her hair brushed in the morning. I mean- its a down right fight. So I either pull it up really fast or clip her bangs back with a bobby pin. This morning was....um...a hard one to say the least so it went back in a bobby pin. I sure wish she would just sit there and let me fix it all cute with bows and a cute little pony tail but you've got to pick your battles! Id rather her leave with a jacket on than worry about her hair being perfect. But when I picked her up her I didnt even recognize her! Her hair looked adorable! They must have fixed her hair into little pig tails and I just LOVED it! She looked so grown up. I sure wish she would let me do that everyday. I just couldnt get over how grown up she looked. I got a few pics of her in the bath- one of her happiest times of the day!

I just couldnt get enough of her sweet little face!!

Weekend wrap-up!

This weekend was VERY productive. Even though I walk into the house and I get very overwhelmed in all the work that remains. By looking at it you might not think we are moving in in 2 weeks! Friday I took the day off so my mom and I could do some serious clean up. We had a dumpster delivered- yes we are those people with a big HUGE yellow dumpster right in front of our house but we needed it. There was no other way to dispose of all of our renovation debri. Sad thing is, it is almost filled to the top with all of the carpet and flooring we ripped out. My mom and I got alot cleaned up and alot of little projects done. Friday night we got to visit some of our best friends in the hospital who just had their precious little boy! Courtney and Blake had Pierce on Thursday night and he is just too sweet! He looks JUST like Blake!!! It was so fun to hold a brand new baby again...I cant wait for that!
Saturday we took Hannah to music class and attempted to put her down for a nap. She is starting to lose her desire to nap on the weekends but then by 3:00 she is just a tired little bear who should have taken a nap :) But 3:00 is too late for her to nap or she wont go to bed at a decent time. So we have tossed around the idea of forgoing her nap but when 3:00 rolls around we are reminded that she does still need to nap :) Saturday afternoon my brother and his fiance Laura picked Hannah up for a play date so we could get some things done at the house. I think Hannah had alot of fun and they did too! They were even brave enough to take her to Trader Joe's. And of course she was good! Lindsay and Matt came in town that night so when they brought Hannah back we all had a nice fun dinner together. On a side note: I found dessert a recipe on Pinterest that sounded so amazing so I made that for Saturday night and it did not disappoint. OMG, I could have eaten the entire pan. Its called an Chocolate Oreo Poke Cake. Anything with pudding and cake just sounds amazing!
I reccomend trying this for any special occasion or just an average week night. You'll LOVE it! And its so easy. Im all about easy!
Ingredients:
Box of Chocolate Cake (and the ingredients to make the cake)
2 boxes of Oreo Instant Pudding & milk to make the pudding
Directions:
Make the cake and bake it according to the directions on the box.
As the cake is almost done baking- prepare 2 boxes of pudding. You will use 4 cups of milk. Beat until it thickens but is not extremely thick. About 2 minutes.
When the cake is finished, take it out of the oven and poke holes about an inch apart with a straw or handle of a utensil.
Pour the pudding all over the top of the cake. Let it sit for a couple minutes to cool, then refrigerate.
You can even sprinkle crushed oreos on top. I didnt have any but it would be really good too!
OMG! I hope you love this as much as I do. It was AMAZING!

Then on Sunday we all had a nice breakfast out and Jeremy and I were able to work on the house a little more. Just so many odds and ends projects we need to finish. All the little things are adding up! The hardwood is FINISHED and looks SO amazing. Jeremy just needs to put the quarter round up and then they will really be done. Today the painters start on the kitchen cabinets...Im so glad they are doing those. It looks like alot of work! Hoping to have appliances delivered on Friday and then it will really start looking like a kitchen. My mom painted the vanity in our master bathroom and it turned out beautiful! Looks brand new. Im not so sure how these people were so hard on all their vanities. We are painting all of them except the basement. Overall, its looking more like OUR house and I LOVE IT! I cannot wait to start moving our stuff in. We still have to paint the kids rooms and do something with the kids bathroom but that bathroom isnt an urgent project. But it would be nice to have it done before we move in. We are just running out of time! Here are a few random pictures of the house mid-renovation. Its coming together!!

Ready for paint!!

Master bath vanity. We painted it a dark expresso. We still need to change the lighting, put in the new floor, & paint.

I can't wait to decorate around the tub. I've seen so many awesome pinterest ideas & can't wait to try!

This is our closet!! I get more excited every time I walk in there. There is so much shelving & storage. I still have no idea where Jeremy will put all his stuff :)

Happy Love Day!

Not too exciting of a Valentine's Day for us today....it will probably be filled with hardwood floors. I feel like such a lame mom too- I dont even have one thing for Hannah. We have been so busy I barely have time to get everything done on a daily basis. Most days I have to choose what is really on the top of the priority list. Things are just crazy right now! If only I didnt have to work then I could get everything done, I'm no super mom!!
But anyways- it is Valentine's day- the day of love and I'm so thankful for all those I love & those who love me. Maybe next year I'll have it together!
Here is H in her v-day outfit. She refuses to look at the camera when you want her to. Imagine that!!

Jeremy & my brother worked on the floors last night. They got pretty far! Hopefully he can finish tonight & we can cross them off our VERY long list!

Floor progress!

Jeremy & friends made such great progress on the floors this weekend. They look awesome!! It's ALOT of work though- thankfully we have such wonderful friends who gave up some of their weekend to help & donate all their high powered tools to our cause! We contributed lots of food & beer as motivation! I'm so so so pleased with them. We started Friday with the entry way looking like this....

Yikes! To say the least. Jeremy had to rip out some of the subfloor & replace it. I don't think he got home until almost 11 Friday night. But after 12 hours of work on Saturday- the entry looked like this!

Our house looks like a construction zone & it looks like we don't have intentions of moving in in a few weeks. Once the floors are done & we get the massive dumpster we had to rent then we can finally clean it all up. But for now- I walk in and get very overwhelmed!
By Sunday they had finished the dining room, entry & bathroom. They were just starting on the kitchen- last room to get done! I can't wait to see the finished product. Jeremy has been working himself so hard. We are usually asleep when he gets home most nights.
Other than the floors we had a really nice weekend. Ran some errands, music class & Bethan and I got the girls together to play & wear them out while the guys were laying floors. We even attempted dinner out & for the most part it was a success. Hannah taught Emma some bad dinner table manners- like sitting on the table. Dinner out is a challenge for sure!! We had fun though!

They loved playing together & even asked about eachother the next day. I asked Hannah what she wanted to do on Sunday & she said, play with Emma. Too cute!!
It was a cold cold weekend- I'm sure hoping it warms up so Jeremy can get some things done in the yard. There is alot of clean up to do back there!
Here are the rest of the pictures of the floors- I love them!!

Pinterest Valentine Gift Bags

We made these adorable Valentine goodie bags for Hannah's class party. They were so easy & turned out so cute! The shovels were a little hard to find this time of year but we did find them at Michaels. I love the finished product!

thankful thursday!

I am SO thankful for this girl. Are there really hard moments? Yes. But last night as she is walking around in her daddy's hat & kissing her toys goodnight, I just couldn't help but thank God for such a blessing.

26 weeks, wood floors, & the cutest toddler bathing suit I've ever seen!

The third trimester is quickly approaching & I can't believe 3 months from today he will be here! We sure do have alot to do in the next 3 months but it will all get done I'm sure. I'm feeling good these days. Sleep is sporadic- I wish I got more of it. Waking up between 4 and 5 am and not going back to sleep is really catching up with me. I never know how I'm going to make it through the work day on decaf coffee! Somehow I do,but an afternoon nap would sure be nice! I'm definitely getting bigger & I can attribute that to my constant state of hunger. I want to eat all day long. Usually I make really good snack choices but they dont hold me over very long! I crave bagels & BW3's. Isnt that weird. I could probably eat like 3 bagels a day- but I promise I don't!

We finally made a decision on the hardwood. That was starting to stress me out! After 3 very high quotes we decided Jeremy would recruit some friends & do it himself. We found the most beautiful hard wood called handscraped solid wood. It's almost wavy & has alot of texture. It's beautiful & will hide the scratches and knicks of 2 kids, a big dog & high heels :) Here is a picture of how it looks already laid- I love it! It's very us. Sometimes hardwood can be so formal and we are not formal people!

I can totally love and hate Facebook all at the same time but what I love is that you can find businesses selling some of the cutest stuff! I just happened to come across this company called Smocked Angels Network & they sell adorable clothing and their proceeds help feed hungry kids. I loved finding that they help feed hungry kids here in America. I think it's great that we help kids all over but we need to start with our own kids. Anyways- they had a sale last night at 8 and they were selling the most adorable toddler bathing suit I've ever laid my eyes on! Of course we know I love monogrammed things so I instantly fell in love with this! It was only $36 including the monogram & free shipping! Yes please!! I could already see H in it this summer!

Its Wednesday thankfully! And we have a little snow...enough to make it feel like winter but I'm ready for the 40's & 50's back!

Productive Weekend!

We have had a pretty productive weekend this weekend- it felt so good to get alot crossed off the list. It was a very expensive weekend but a productive one! Friday we ordered our carpet and stopped by the house to check out the paint. It looks SO great! I am so happy with the color and how it turned out. And even happier that we didnt have to paint. I am not a good painter. It always sounds like a good idea but then I start and do not want to finish. Id much rather be cleaning and organizing!
kitchen ready for paint...the island has been pulled out. We will be painting the island and cabinets.
this is the entry way, those doors lead to the kitchen- I love it!

View from the entry way into the dining room.

Friday night we were able to just relax and finally have a night at home. It felt so nice! We've been running so much lately and so busy we are ready to get back into a routine. Although quickly, little man will be here and we will be routine-less!
Saturday morning Jeremy met yet another flooring guy for a quote. We might end up doing the hard wood ourselves but we wanted to get one final quote. My mom and dad very graciously watched Hannah Saturday morning so we could get some things done. Taking Hannah in public is a challenge to say the least and she has been a handful lately! I know she is ready for routine too...I hope! :) We went and picked out our appliances which was fun- however I sure wish they came with a cook! After that we went and looked at some couches that we liked and a new mattress. We think we found our mattress but we are waiting on the couch. Its hard to get a good idea of how something will look in the family room. That afternoon we met a lady who was interested in the chandelier that was in the dining room. It wasnt our taste so we put it on Craigslist- which is my favorite website to sell anything on. Ive always had good luck. We sold it right there! I was glad to have that extra money to go buy the new lighting. Today Jeremy worked on the floors to get them ready for the wood and carpet and my mom peeled wallpaper and worked on the vanities. Im not sure how a family could have been so rough on vanities but I think we will have to re-paint all of them. We have time! The carpet is going to take the longest so we have some time to fit it all in!

Everything is coming together slowly but surely. Its a fun process but we are ready to be in! This little girl has been a spitfire this weekend. Like Ive said before- she is one strong-willed, independent little lady!!
Lately she has been very interested in pants that have pockets- so when her pants dont have pockets...she makes her own. This cracked us up! I have a feeling we are going to find the most random things in her pockets!

I'm so glad it's Friday! Aren't you?

This week could not have gone any slower but also could not have been busier. Well I guess it could have but Jeremy was swamped with work meetings alot of the week & trying to meet with contractors & make house decisions had me crazy! We ordered carpet today, working on hardwood (that has been a task) an expensive one at that! I am also excited to see the painters progress today. We still have lots to do- but since the carpet will take longer than we expected we should have time to do everything we need to. As long as budget permits! Darn budgets! It's been fun though for only having the house a week. I'm hoping for a normal night at home tonight! Most likely early to bed for me...I was up at 4:45 with a million things running through my head.

I feel like she looks!!

She is not a morning person! And she has had a rough week! Pink eye on Tuesday- I will say I didn't mind staying home with her one bit! Then she was back on Wednesday & they called me like 30 minutes after I dropped her off to tell me she fell & hit her head so hard they were really worried. Poor girl! They sent me a picture of her head- she looks so sad. But she bounced back & you can hardly see the bruise.

Hoping this weekend stays as beautiful as it is today!
