KY trip recap so far!

We made it! One more flight alone with the kids that I can check of my list! It wasnt too bad. They both slept at some point, we had a whole row to ourselves, we had a great tailwind and made it home in 3 hours and 10 mins- that's fast! and no one had to go to the bathroom :) Im so glad they are great travelers. I am so proud of them. They have their moments but they pull through for me when I need them too!
So let's see... On Thursday Hannah went to school with my mom. Seriously, that is her favorite place. She has SO much fun. I hope she loves school that much when she starts!  Owen and I met Kate and Brandy for lunch with their little girls- it was great to catch up!

We stopped at Sams that night for some things and Hannah was So worn out from school she fell asleep on the Ritz cracker box in the shopping cart. The guy had to scan around her head. HA HA!

Friday she went to school with my mom again. Owen and I ran some errands and got some things done, however, we are not used to this cold weather! WHEW! My sister came in town that night and we went to my Nana's house and had dinner. The kids always love a change of scenery and new toys :)

Saturday we had tickets for Derby Dinner Playhouse to see "Jingle ARRRR The Way" A pirate Christmas play- it was so cute! They have all the dinner tables set up and the stage in the middle. So you eat and enjoy the show. She had alot of fun and was really good!

 Miss my sis!

Wasnt big on getting close to Santa!
We had a front row table!

We enjoyed the rest of the weekend with Lindsay, and my mom and Hannah baked all day today. I ran to the mall to try and get my Iphone fixed at the Apple store so I ran into a few stores and got a few things. Gap is having a big sale right now until Thursday- lots of things were 30-60% off!

We have the next week and a half JAM packed as usual but we look forward to each day and seeing everyone we miss! I am SO looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner. Im not counting one single calorie. Ive done so good so far, I am going to reward myself and splurge!! Im counting down, ha ha!

Here are a few pics from my phone I had not ever posted and as I need to basically reset my entire phone Im going to have to make sure its all backed up because Im going to lose everything!

MANIAC! This kid is crazy! His new favorite thing is to pull out all of his socks and throw them over this railing down the stairs. Its so fun to clean up!
Beautiful sunset one night on my way home from the store.
There are alot of things I love about staying home. But the other day it really dawned on me. I absolutely love how close they have gotten. If we were still here they would have been at the same daycare but would not have interacted all day long as they would be in different rooms. But they are so close and she is seriously an awesome sister!
She is so into learning and school stuff right now, I told her all the letters but she wrote them all! Even her Z is the right way :)
Field trip with her a couple weeks ago!

 3 going on 13!
Kids museum- we think he is going to be a lefty!
 LOVE how precious he is.
They loved the airplane room at the kids museum- maybe because we fly so much!
 2013 school picture :)
The kids museum has a little "town" set up so the kids can play in the grocery store, the airport, the mechanics shop, a restaurant, all kinds of places. Hannah was in heaven scanning groceries in the store. We are lucky to have a place like that for them.

We are going to enjoy every bit of the next 10 days! I might update at some point but if I dont, we are here having a great time!!

my not so little 18 month old.

Where on earth did my baby go?! I still treat him like a little baby so Im still holding onto that :) Last Friday was Owen's 18 month birthday...its so hard to believe. I remember bringing home this precious 8 pound baby and holding him...well until now :) I CANNOT get enough of him most days. I want to gnaw on his little chubby cheeks and some days I do. He is everything I hoped for in a son. He is a total mama's boy and I LOVE it. He is loving, wild, funny and smart :) I love watching him turn into a funny little person. I love watching the bond between him and Hannah. It seriously makes the hardest days worth it. I couldnt ever imagine only having one child and I am SO beyond thankful God has given us these two. Watching them as brother and sister is one of my greatest joys. They are perfect together.

At 18 months, Owen is still and continues to hold true to his nickname, Tiny Tornado. The kid gets into everything. Cupboards, closets, the dishwasher, and the bathroom is his new favorite. He is rarely playing in the fully stocked playroom we have. He ALWAYS has a smile on his face. Those big front teeth literally melt me.

These days he really isnt saying a whole lot, not as much as I remember with Hannah but Im not really sure Owen can get a word in with a sister like Hannah :) He copies every single thing she does. Ive never seen such a copy cat. He even copies other people. The other day at the park a little boy was just laying down on the play structure and Owen laid right beside him and put his hands under his chin like the little boy was doing. I had to laugh but not sure what that little boy thought :)
so patient with her! for the most part!

Lets see- he has been sleeping really good. He goes to bed about 7:45-8 and wakes between 7-8. We have off days but for the most part he has a great schedule. He naps about 1:00 and sleeps for 3 to 3.5 hours. Usually we have to go wake him after 4:00. Confession- he still sleeps in his pack n play. Yep, his room is filled with beautiful nursery furniture and the kid sleeps in a pack n play. Whatever works! At least he's sleeping :)

He's getting to be a pretty picky eater. I will cut up everything we are having for dinner and when I sit down with my plate he cries and reaches for my food. I guess thats a toddler thing! He is determined to feed himself which is good too but, pretty messy! He used to eat almost anything and now the list is getting shorter.

He's wearing mostly 18-24 month clothes. 2T's are kinda big on him. I think he has short little legs :) All his pants are too long! But he has some juicy thighs!

We are working on the eye teeth at the moment. Those are rough! I hate those darn teeth. I remember how they turned Hannah into a different child and I am expecting the same thing for him!

He LOVES playing outside. He will go get his shoes by the back door and just wait for someone to let him out. He gets so upset if he cant go out.

He has the funniest little run Ive ever seen. I guess because his legs are short its like he wobbles back and forth. I cant even describe it, its just hilarious!

He has been doing alot more sign language lately and picking up on it quickly. I love when babies sign, its just one of the neatest things they learn.

He loves showing you where your nose is. He'll basically just point to your nose for 20 minutes straight! And he loves showing off his belly :) He knows most of his body parts but his belly is his favorite!

When he wakes up he just wants to cuddle. You cant change his diaper right away, he just wants to be wrapped in this huge blanket we have and cuddle. I love those moments!

He's getting more hair- and Im surprised how light it is. Hannah had a head full of dark hair but Owen is the opposite!

He is just one funny, happy little boy! I cant believe we are getting closer to 2 years old everyday. I LOVE this stage. They are so fun! Owen, we love every single bit of you!!!

Red Rock Canyon

One of the prettiest places in Las Vegas is Red Rock Canyon. Sunday we decided to head over there and instead of just drive through it- actually get out and walk through one of the trails. We chose the kids Discovery Trail which we thought would be great for the kids. It was a beautiful day! Too pretty to stay inside! We walked the whole trail and the kids did great! I was surprised at how much climbing and hiking we actually did but Hannah started to really get into it at the end. I think we'll definitely go back and try one of the longer trails. Of course, Owen wasnt too interested in hiking through it all so we held him the whole time. That was fun :)

And this was Owen afterwards....he was knocked out. We stopped and grabbed some lunch and he slept through the entire thing!

Friday night we went Cosmic Bowling which was really fun- Hannah is a pretty good little bowler :)
Hannah isnt really all that interested in the camera these days!

That night Hannah stayed with our neighbors next door. I couldnt believe she did it. ALL night, and I dont think she came home until the next day at noon! That morning was so quiet we didnt know what to do with ourselves! We watched a movie, worked out, cleaned, it was crazy how easy one child is! :)

It was a fun weekend! Back into the normal routine this week- a little more than two weeks until we are back in KY!

Halloween Night!

We all had a fun Halloween night! A delicious batch of white chicken chili, amazing fall weather, too much candy and fun with friends! The kids didnt trick or treat for too long- which is good because no one needs that much candy! But it was fun to dress them up and watch them have fun. After a few houses Owen and I came back to hand out candy. He was ADORABLE! He would follow people down the driveway putting more candy in their bag. Our neighbors came over and they have a little boy and girl, Owen reached in Isaac's bucket and grabbed some candy and put it in Isaac's sisters bucket. Isaac wasnt too happy but I think his sister was :) It was too funny!

For some reason they do not look happy but they were! I love this family of mine. They make every single day fun and full of surprises :)

And....this was after!

Oh and HERE is the white chili recipe. We LOVED it. Like I think I could make it once a week. Our neighbors loved it too. Its also a healthy version!
