We started sporting our Christmas jams as early as we could! Aren't sleeping children one of the best things on earth?! especially when they are this sweet sleeping together! I am trying to convince them to sleep together every night so I can sleep in my own bed....it's not working!
Owen had his first Christmas program December 6th, Hannah was so excited to go watch him. She was his biggest fan!! Couldn't get a picture of him of course.
Top middle, wearing little lamb ears...so cute!
He DID NOT want to do this. We took him back to line up with his classmates and he was sobbing. I basically had to hand him over to his teachers screaming and we really thought they would be bring him back out. But they got him to calm down and he sang and did all the hand motions. It was adorable.
My pictures are bad but he was on the opposite side of the stage from us. He looked so darn cute though.
Then we had a sick little one a week later. Poor guy this is how he went through the store with me.
We decided since we were traveling not to take any chances and take him to the doctor, they said it was a virus but he was out at the drs office!
Saturday he perked back up which was good because on Sunday we had our little "Las Vegas Christmas" that we have before we head to KY. Santa comes to Vegas early just for the kids ;)
We made Santa cookies, Owen enjoyed it!
We really wanted a real tree this year since we had alot more room in the living room but we decided since we were only going to be able to enjoy it for about 2 weeks before we left we would wait. So our little fake tree was just as well!
The
kids were SO excited Santa was coming. Christmas really is just more
fun every single year. We really want them to understand the reason for
the season and that it's not just about getting gifts.
Hannahs big present was that Jeremy is going to build her a playhouse, we havent started yet but hope to soon once it warms up ;)
They both couldnt wait to open Owens big gift!
His very own front loader!
They had a great morning and we had alot of fun! We had a great breakfast and just enjoyed "Christmas morning!" We like to do something fun and Christmasy with the kids so this year we went and saw the lights at the Las Vegas Speedway. We drove through thousands of lights, it was neat. Im pretty sure the kids just loved the hot chocolate :)
Tuesday
we had a Christmas party for the kids at Angel Park, we had not been
able to make it in the past as we are always out of town but I was so
glad we made it. It was an awesome party for them. They had a great kid
friendly buffet, desserts, a bounce house, gingerbread making, stocking
decorating and each child got to pick a gift, a really nice gift! They
were in heaven.
Santa and Mrs. Claus came too!
Tuesday
was when it all started to go downhill for me....Tuesday basically in
the middle of the night I woke with a sore throat, chills and aches. I
was able to function most of the day but then by that evening I was in
bad shape. I really didnt
assume it was strep, my throat hurt but not as bad as my neck. I guess
when I get strep my lymph nodes swell SO bad that I get terrible pain
all around my neck. I could hardly make it through the kids Christmas
party. I hadnt
really had much to eat or drink so I was very light headed and
nauseous. I had to go sit in the bathroom and then we left early. I was
shaking and shivering the whole way home, I had the worst chills. We got
home at 6:30 and I went straight to bed. I was in terrible shape, I
could barely even open my eyes. I knew that morning I had to get to
urgent care since we were flying home that day!
I
went to urgent care right after I dropped Hannah off at school, and
they confirmed I had strep. I really thought they would say I just had a
virus so I was kind of relieved because I knew I would get meds. And thankfully I had a great PA who felt bad for me getting on an airplane with kids. I got a steroid, antibiotics, pain meds
for my neck and miracle mouth wash. She sure hooked me up! Thank God
for the steroid, I still had not packed a thing and was getting on a
plane that evening! I am also so thankful Jeremy was flying home with
us, he usually flies a day or two later but this was so helpful. I
finally started feeling better a few days later. It was AWFUL. I don't
wish that on anyone.
They look so happy and sweet right here ;)
The
next day we visited my Grammy, I had lunch with a friend, Jeremy went
to his old course to see some friends, then we had dinner with Nana. We
sure do cram in so much! Hannah went to school with my mom, she was in
heaven of course! I really didnt do my best getting pictures in KY, the sickness had me so fuzzy.
Visiting Grammy!
Pie Face at Nana's! This is fitting cause Jeremy never gets it and he finally did!
Friday afternoon we headed to Owensboro
for Christmas with Jeremy's family. It was a great weekend, that flew
by! The kids had a blast. Saturday evening when we were driving back
from Jeremy's uncles house, Jeremy got the chills. I KNEW it. I knew he
was going to get strep. I think I literally threw one of my antibiotics
at him. I think it helped him and he didnt get the full blown strep but he definitely had the spots on his throat. Sunday he got meds and felt better. Thankfully we didnt share it with Jeremy's family!
Sunday we were supposed to have friends and their kids over for dinner but we just couldnt chance it with all the germs. It was a good thing because Monday morning my mom woke up and she had it. BAD. I couldnt
believe how bad she had it. She was literally knocked out for 24-36
hours. And we were leaving for the beach at like 3 am on Tuesday
morning. They ended up leaving later but we hit the road in the middle
of the night. Visiting KY is always fast, but this was hard because I couldnt see friends and all their new babies and kids. I didnt want to get anyone sick but it was sad not to get to see them :(
Christmas with Grammy and Nana!
