weekend shenanigans

We had a great weekend, it was cool and most importantly we got to spend lots of quality family time together :)
Friday we were going to head to the movie in the park but it wasnt a movie that Hannah was too interested in so we made a delicious dinner and went and grabbed some fro-yo! One of our favorite things to do :)
Honeycrisp apples are in season! It must be fall!
Just doing a little work in the office :)

Saturday we relaxed and ran some errands before we went to our neighbors cookout. I bought some new fall boots with my birthday money and I cant wait to wear them, esp since it felt like fall all weekend. It reminded me of home, minus the beautiful fall tree colors. But Ill take 75 degrees in the desert anyday! We had a great time at our neighbors house. The kids wore themselves out! We came home at 10:45 which was way past all of our bedtimes! Owen usually goes to bed at 7:30 so this was really late for him but he was so good. Hannah gave the boys a run for their money. By the time we got home she asked for some grapes and was falling asleep eating them!

Sunday we headed to Bonnie Springs Ranch so Hannah could see some animals. It was ok....It was more like most of the animals were inside the exhibits and there were a handful of goats roaming around. And it was so windy it was actually cold! The drive to Bonnie Springs is through Red Rock Canyon, which is beautiful. We grabbed some lunch and came home and napped! Well me an Owen napped, Hannah NEEDED a nap but she just wont budge. There are some days I sure wish she would take a nap!

 beautiful!

 She loved the pony ride!

Overall, it was a nice family weekend! We have one more weekend before we head to KY for a quick trip. Im in a wedding and we are packed with things to do and drs appointments for the kids but we'll squeeze it all in and head back to Vegas with my mom. Once we get back to Vegas we are flying to California and taking Hannah to Disneyland! It will be a crazy 2 weeks but that's what its all about!

Friday Five

5 great things for Friday....

1) Jeremy is back to a pretty normal schedule....Hallelujah! We're all happy about this one! And he is off all weekend- yes!

2) We have some great new neighbors who we really like and the mom is my age and we get along great! We see lots of driveway sitting while the kids play (they have 4!) and cookouts and hopefully some mom nights out!

3) I am loving ELF products. I think ELF is genius because its so cheap so people just buy it to try it. If a product is over like $10 (yes Im cheap) then Im going to wait for a review. But eyelid primer for $1? Sure! Bronzer for $3, yes! My new favorite is their High Definition powder. It just sets your makeup perfectly and gives a nice finished look. I cant really explain it but Im loving it! Just $6!

4)  Weekend plans! Tonight we have a movie in the park and the weather here is really feeling great! I think it was 90 yesterday but it felt awesome. We spend alot of time outside so this has been a bonus! Tomorrow we are cooking out with the neighbors and might just get a babysitter so we can sneak away for a movie on sunday! If you havent seen We're the Millers, do it! Its hilarious. I liked it so much I want to go back with Jeremy...oh and movie theater popcorn doesnt hurt :)

5) I have friends having babies left and right! Gives me baby fever!! Not bad enough to have another though lol! But I sure wish I was there to meet these babies! Its been making me reminisce on both our babies and I just LOVED that newborn stage. Sure its SO hard and so tiring but the next thing you know they are sleeping through the night and what you would give to just have that sweet newborn sleeping on your chest. But..I like to think long term...ya know, 2 teenagers, 2 cars, 2 college tuitions...things like that. But you never know...Jeremy is laughing at me right now!! Ha ha!
Dug through the archives for these. OMG I miss these babies!!

And a few pictures from our week...
Hannah was at school, I was trying to sew something and Owen was playing with Hannah's stuff...its almost like he knew :)
 LOVE this.
Thumbs up for corn on the cob!
Kid LOVES it!

one of my favorite times of the day

I love bath time. The kids have fun, there isnt any crying, they dont ask for a million snacks and they cant go anywhere :) They play, they laugh and they are just so darn cute I cant stand it. These two make my heart so full it hurts.

Owen's 15 month appointment...a little late!

Healthcare in Las Vegas isnt consumer friendly. I know there are good doctors here but they dont have the same hospitality as what we are used to. No late hours, urgent cares are few and far between, you wait FOREVER to see the dr, the office staff isnt super friendly, its just very different. Ive been trying to keep most of the kids specialists appointments back in KY and make them when are in town visiting. Its been working so far. But we needed to get Owen in for his 15 month check up. We tried a new doctor and he was great but we were there for 2 hours. Jeremy had to leave work to get Hannah from school because I wasnt even out of there in time. Thats just wrong!

Anyways, Owen looked great. At a tiny 25 pounds (I say tiny cause he seems so little to us compared to how big Hannah was) and 32.5 inches. He fell right into the 75-90th percentile categories and was doing all that he should be. He wears anywhere between 18-24 month clothes. Size 5 diapers. Is completely done with having us feed him. This morning we battled over the spoon and he won. He fed himself greek yogurt, Im sure you can imagine how that ended. He isnt too interested in the high chair anymore. He copies everything Hannah does. Its the sweetest thing Ive ever seen. He sleeps from about 7:30 to between 6:30-7:15. Usually its about 6:45 but thats ok, he's napping well too. He's gotten a little pickier but will still eat so much when he is hungry. He babbles all day long, dances to any song that comes on, and is saying several words. He barks like a dog and moo's like a cow. He knows right where is head is and is happy playing with a set of keys. This kid makes my heart melt more every single day. Most mornings I put him in bed with me before I get ready for the day and he just lays his head on me doesnt want me to get up. How can you say no to that?

He is so happy and healthy, that is all that matters to us!

This is new....Who needs a fork when you have feet?!

 funny boy!

I cant believe he is almost a year and a half...where has this time gone? I am SO thankful for the days I am getting to spend at home with him. He brings me so much joy. He is my shopping partner when Hannah is at school, the sweetest, most loving little boy and Hannah's best friend. She calls him "little bud" it makes me so thankful she has him.

update in pictures

Here's  an update of what we've been up to- again, like my usual posts...in no particular order because I dont have time for all that rearranging!
blueberry pancakes for breakfast make quite a mess for a toddler!
we went to the discovery kids museum on Thursday and it was not crowded at all because school is back- and that was great!! The kids had fun!
SO big,  I cant stand it!
This is what most of our days are filled with :)
Hannah and Maddie sharing a snack under an umbrella? :)

My birthday was Sunday and Jeremy worked for almost 10 hours that day so we were able to squeeze in breakfast at the Hash House which is AMAZING and a famous place in Vegas. I think its been on the food network before- and its worth it!
I LOVE when she runs in our room in the mornings. They're so sweet when they first wake up, arent they?!
Just a little father/son convo over dinner!
Saturday we went bowling with the kids to do a little early bday celebration after Jeremy got off work. Hannah did really good carrying her ball and rolling it as hard as she could down the lane. It only got stuck once!
Im not sure the museum intended this to be used this way :)
Crazy, Happy Birthday mommy face!
LOVED getting this note from Hannah's school. She can be such a handful for us but Im thankful she is sweet and kind and thoughtful to teachers and other children in her class.
The water room all to ourselves!
I love this picture. They look like they are planning their next move!
Love this sleepy little guy!
So independent...we can barely feed him anymore. The "I do it" stage has begun!
My little grocery buddy!

Someone turned 16 months yesterday! How did this happen? 16 month post after his appt on friday.
These two just make my heart so happy!!
