long weekend (recap)!

We had a pretty nice 4 day weekend! I had 4 days off- poor Jeremy worked the entire weekend :( So we really only accomplished 2 of the 4 things I wanted to do this weekend.
Friday we slept in- as much as you can with a 4 month old- ran some errands and in between Jeremy's break from work we grabbed dinner then he headed back that night. I hated that! I was so looking forward to a relaxing weekend of movies, cookouts, pools, etc but thats ok! Saturday my mom and I ran errands and then got ready for Lindsay and Matt to come in town for the Bats Baseball game- it was a warm day! I so wanted to get to the pool but dipping Hannahs feet into Ruby's pool was as close as we got! The water was cold, but I had fun putting Hannah in her bathing suit! Then Ruby got in...her favorite thing!! The Bats game was alot of fun, the stadium has a new section that has tons of picnic tables under cover near the outfield. It was perfect for H. So we watched a few innings then met my parents across the river at Buckheads for dinner. It was such a relaxing night! My sisters new boyfriend Matt probably thinks we are a crazy bunch but he keeps coming around :) Sunday Jeremy was supposed to be off but his irrigation system has been having problems so he had to go in again. We all went to breakfast and got ready for a cookout at my parents house. A little warm for cornhole but we enjoyed lots of food and great company :) Monday was Craft Day at my moms house. I have so many projects I have been wanting to get finished so we made Monday Craft day. Of course I never get all the things I want done but I got a good start- burp cloths, pacifier clips, bow holders, pillowcase dresses...the list is long! I dont have enough patience so my mom usually takes over...its pretty painful to watch me try. But Im getting there!
Overall it was a beautiful weekend- spent with my favorite people! I cant ever get enough of my family...I hope they feel the same way about me...ha!
Next trip on the agenda was going to be a trip to Gulf Shores but thanks to BP we will have to relocate our vacation. We are thinking 4th of July in Destin! I cant wait! I havent been to the beach since Jamaica- even though I dont get in the ocean, I love being there!
Here are some pictures of our weekend...this girl just gets cuter everyday!! Oh and someone has been rolling over BOTH ways! I love watching her roll from back to tummy...she gets stuck on her arm but eventually gets all the way over. I have the best video on my phone- hopefully I can find a way to post it.
Ready for the pool!

4 month check up!

We had Hannah's four month appt today- everything looks great! Except her darn stuffy nose but thats another issue! She was 16 pds 4 oz and 24.5 iches long. She is in the 97th percentile for weight...she has pretty much been above 90 her whole life :) she just loves to eat! Everything looked right on track, she is laughing and smiling like she should be and was SUPER happy during the whole appt...except when the shot lady came in. She handled it pretty well...and by she- I mean me...and so did Hannah :) We always have a bottle ready which helps her quickly forget about the pain!
She is sleeping ok right now- averages about 6 hours at a time and 8 or 9 if we are lucky! She was doing so good but then she got that cold and that stuffy nose and she just could not sleep through the night with that nose. So she would wake because she couldnt breathe and then remember she was STARVING! But she slept 9 straight hours last night so Im hoping her nose is better and she is maybe getting into more of a routine. Madalyn has been coming to our house to babysit for the past week and it has been GREAT! For both of us! I dont have the daycare drive in the morning and it saves me SO much time. In about 2 1/2 weeks my mom will start watching her. I just love that she is getting one on one attention. Madalyn is great and loves reading to her and taking her on walks...Im so jealous ;)
Hannah has changed so much in just a month. I have found one of the things I love the MOST about Hannah- is watching her learn how to use her hands. I know its kind of a weird thing to love but I could just watch her move her hands all day long. I love watching her slowly bring them to her mouth- and I especially get a good laugh when she slowly brings them to her mouth but misses because she doesnt quite get where everything is! Its incredible watching a little baby learn where everything is and how it all works.
She is so active now- she doesnt love cuddling anymore-unless she is super tired. So sad! That happened so fast! She loves seeing everything and watching everyone. I think she even notices Ruby now- of course, how can you not!?! She loves her excersaucer- she still likes her mat but she loves standing and moving around. She is such a calm- sweet- good natured baby. She only fusses if she is hungry or tired. So many people comment- is she always this good? And for the most part, she really is. She just lights up when anyone smiles or talks to her. Sometimes Ill just catch her smiling at nothing- and I cant help but smile!
She rolled from her tummy to her back yesterday- which I was so excited about! Its just the beginning- I know once she starts moving she wont stop!
We are really trying to start a routine. Its taken us 4 months to even try to start one. I dont believe in the theories of only feeding babies at certain times to create structure. Poor babies need to eat and sleep when they want. Thats probably why we dont have a routine! The doctor says babies who sleep 6 hours at a time at this age is great...thats ok with us. We are used to getting up anyways :)
The doctor talked about when to start food and told us to look for cues. He says babies will start opening their mouths when their parents eat as a sign that they are ready. Isnt that so cute! I cant wait until she starts doing that! Other signs are babies who can almost sit up and babies that will lean in for food if you put it to their mouth. I know Hannah will give us the sign when she is ready- Im in no hurry! Of course the way she eats, I think she would lean in for a bite of steak :)
Overall- I cant complain! We have such a sweet and most important- HEALTHY baby. I just love this girl more everyday. I absolutely love the family we have created (yes- even Ruby!). We have a BUSY weekend coming up and I am looking forward to it. We have been so busy lately I cant wait to have nothing on our schedule- except the pool, the zoo, a cookout and a baseball game! Lots of firsts for H this weekend!

Sick but still smiling at bath time! I was introduced to a "vapor bath"- basically a bath that smells like Vicks- whether or not it works it smells like it does!

2 times in one week?

We have been to the pediatrictian 2 times in one week...ok 2 times in 3 days!! This poor girl! Started with the sniffles...raspy little cough, then onto a bigger cough. Finally Thursday we just decided we needed to take her in. Made an appt with the doctors office- which we love by the way- no problems getting in! And turns out she just had an upper respitory infection, pink"ish" ears- not infected...but what was worth a $30 copay was finding out she weighs 15 pds 12 oz! Shes starving- cant you tell! No medicine, just waiting it out. Lots of saline, aspirators, and warm baths- not that those do anything she just loves the bath! Then today- we ran errands getting ready for a cookout tonight and then we went to my parents house for a few things and I noticed how watery and pink her eye was. Immediately concerned me because there was a conjunctivitis break out at daycare. So we took her again. No pink eye- but the doc thought maybe she scratched her cornea..so she did some test with blue lights and that wasnt anything either. Good! She's ok- just going to wait it out. Starting Monday we are going to have someone coming to our house to watch her for abut 4 weeks (Im really excited about it!) It will save me so much time in the morning and I can just let Hannah sleep until she is ready to get up! Fingers crossed for an "un"sniffly night sleep!

somebody's got the sniffles...

Hannah has had the worst stuffy nose the past couple of days! Its so hard to listen to her breathe, you just want her to blow her little baby nose! Then a few days later she started with a nasty little cough! She is eating and sleeping ok so we don't think its a cold or anything. Jeremy called the doctors office and they said to give her saline spray, which we have been doing but she hates it!! Poor little girl! Look at her rosey little cheeks :) I could just eat them up! Her nose is much better today and her cough is a little better- but she has been a snuggler lately!

Still partly smiles even though she doesnt feel good!
Hanging out in our bed- look at those tired eyes!

And just a few random of my girl :)

She will never be able to escape my camera :) I cant believe how big she has gotten! Almost 4 months old!

Celebrations!

We had lots of celebrations this past weekend-including a baby shower, a birthday and my first Mothers day!
Saturday I celebrated baby Emma with my friend Bethan at such a sweet baby shower. We cant wait for Emma’s arrival so she and Hannah can become best friends! The shower was so nice and Hannah was in such a great mood the whole time. Maybe she knew it was for her soon to be best friend!
Sunday was my very first Mothers day! I could not more blessed with such a sweet, beautiful daughter. I look at this girl changing every day and cant believe how she has changed my life. Watching her grow and change every day brings me more joy than I could have ever thought existed! I love watching her learn new things and grow into such a beautiful little girl. I am so thankful I have been blessed by motherhood. It changes things for sure, but now I am forever changed. I cant wait to have more little babes and complete our already precious family!
Sunday was my oldest brothers birthday- you’ll have to add up the cake to figure out how old he is. My mom didn’t have the right numbers so we had to do a little math! We headed to my parents house on Sunday for a birthday and mothers day dinner. I love hanging out over there because it gives me a break from laundry and cleaning!! We had a great afternoon hanging out and relaxing with everyone! Although I don’t know how relaxing it was for my mom who cooked her whole Mothers day dinner! At least my dad cleaned up! My mom got me-well us- a great present for Mothers day. A membership to the zoo! Isn’t that great?! If we don’t have anything going on we can head down to the zoo- enjoy the animals, beautiful weather and a little exercise. I am really looking forward to it!
Oh and Alex is back!! YAY! He gets to attend Camp Hannah this summer…I’m sure he will get plenty of lessons in diaper changing and baby care! He’d probably rather get a job!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and amazing Mothers day! Hopefully you got to relax and got pampered in some way!

go baby go!

It was a WET derby this year, but we still went to trackside rain and all! This was our 3rd year going with Blake and Courtney and my sister and Matt came too! We had a great time!! We missed our girl but she was in great hands! It felt so weird going to bed without her by my side- I woke at 5 but easily fell back asleep until 8 :) Hananh slept great for my mom so I was glad about that!
We braved the rain and were able to sit outside at Trackisde- we got a little wet but for the most part we got a good break in the weather. The sun even came out right at Derby race time!! No big winners this year but we enjoyed betting all the races. Next year Im putting big money on Calvin!! I did win some money on the Derby race but thats because I had money on almost every horse :)

The sun was out!!

Group pic- Jeremy was cashing in all our winnings! ha!

Our guys :)

I made Hannah the cutest Derby onesie- it said Go Baby Go! on it but obviously from the picture below she did not love her first Derby!! Ill have to put it on her sometime this week and recreate Derby day hopefully with a smile!

Just a random one of my girl!
