check up!

Hannah had her one month doctors appointment on Monday and...are you ready...she weighs 10 pounds 15 oz! That is exactly what I guessed! I couldnt believe she was so big....actually I could- this girl doesnt sleep through a meal! She was 21.5 inches long and her head grew 1/2 an inch. The doctor said she looks great! She is so much more alert now (when she is awake) and loves staring at things...basically anything on the wall or a ceiling fan. I love locking eyes with her-she is really starting to recognize things and people. We are still working on a routine (ok- what routine?) and I am just SO glad I still have about 7 more weeks to try to create one. My mom and I are still throwing around the idea of a California trip...It just makes me a nervous wreck! I know exactly how people feel when they see a newborn get on a plane! Thank goodness my mom would be with me- she has incredible patience! It would be so worth it to get to San Diego so my Grammy and Bumpah can meet their first Great Grandchild! I can only imagine all the stuff we will need...we fill up my car just going over to my parents house for dinner! Its amazing how much stuff those little people need :)
Here she is in her bouncy (wrapped up in a blanket because she is just in a diaper!) We had to take her clothes off to get her to wake up to eat!! Next trick...a bath!

Her faces are so funny! She is probably tired of the flash!

one month & a road trip!

Our little babe is one month!! I cant believe it! I just dont know where the time has gone! She has already changed so much in a month, and I look forward to all the new changes as we approach month 2!
We celebrated Hannah's one month birthday with a road trip to Lexington to visit Alex. It was her first road trip :) She slept through the whole thing! The car puts her right to sleep- which is fine by me! We picked Alex up, went to our favorite Lexington Mexican restaurant and braved the Lexington traffic (worst traffic I have ever seen!) so Alex could get a haircut and some new spring clothes! We had a lot of fun!
Getting ready for our road trip!! Where is my bow mom??
Alex & Hannah in Lexington
One Month Old and Looking SO much older!!!
Sleeping beauty!!
We even picked up a toy for Ruby while we were out- by the end of the night our whole family room was covered in this! Id love to find a toy she cant destroy!!

snowed in....

as THANKFUL as I am that I dont have to get up and go to work and haul a new baby to daycare in this awful snow...I am tired of the white stuff! I think snow is only appealing when youre in school and you have the possibility of a snow day! Other than that- its a big nasty mess! We got alot more snow today and we were trapped in the house again! I dont need to be out running a million errands- bt I'd just like to take a walk in the neighborhood on a sunny day with Hannah!

Hannah enjoying her snow day!

Hannah and dad snowed in!

This one is from last night- Jeremy put her pj's on and they had hearts on them...so yes- she did wear hearts on Valentines Day :)

7 years

7 years ago today Jeremy and I had our very first date...he picked me up from the dorms at Western, had a dozen white roses and we went to The Brickyard for dinner....so romantic :) Followed by a classic party at the Delt house afterwards...ha ha! 7 years ago we started something that has grown from friendship to love, and from a couple to a family. I couldnt be happier where we are at in our lives right now. We have been SO blessed with such a beautiful, healthy daughter and we have such an amazing relationship and marriage. I couldnt ask for a better husband...there is no one out there that could be more patient with me and put up with me like he does. Not only is he the best husband but he has become the most amazing father. I always knew he would be a great dad, but he has far exceeded my expectations :) He is incredible and probably changes more diapers in the middle of the night than any dad I know! I fell in love with Jeremy all over again in that delivery room and I love him more every day. Happy Valentines Day and Anniversay Jeremy! Here's to MANY more years together!

We had our very first date night since Hannah was born- my mom babysat while we went to dinner on Saturday. I think she would have paid us to watch her :) It was nice getting out and enjoying a nice dinner but we found ourselves lost in "Hannah conversation" most of the night! We left my mom with one job- to keep Hannah awake-and she failed. Of course, that is the hardest task!
Before we headed out for dinner!

When we got back...Hannah in a milk coma!

We also got to see Lindsay and Alex for a little Valentines Lunch before they headed back to Lexington...we love when they come to town!

Aunt Lindsay and Hannah
Hannah in her Valentines Ladybug outfit (I realize its doesnt have one heart on it but it is red!) I got the most adorable ladybug clip from a friend and when I saw Ladybug pants at Gap, I couldnt resist!!

I am looking forward to this week- my mom is on winter break and we have all kinds of things planned! Hannah and I will have lots of play dates this week!!

3 weeks (& 2 days!)

I wont do this every week for the rest of her life...but Ill definitely start monthly updates at a month! Hannah is doing great at 3 weeks and definitely alot more alert! She is getting on a better sleep schedule (I hope we are onto something!) and holding up her head and moving it from side to side. She is a strong little girl! She is already so funny and we just love to laugh at all the funny things she does! I cant wait to watch as she develops her own personality! She does the funniest thing when you pick her up out of her car seat or from anywhere really- she arches her back so far, throws her head back, and sticks her little butt out. I have to get a picture- its hilarious! We work so hard to keep her awake during the day and spend most of our nights from about 5pm to 10 pm trying to keep her up- In hopes that she sleeps longer at night. Last night was good...hopefully we can keep it going! We go back for her one month check up in a week and a half- I cant wait to see how much she weighs! I hope not too much- she eats alot!

One of the first pictures take of her!

She already looks SO different! But still as cute as can be!

Here are some of her funny faces!

This is what we call her bird face! She makes it all the time!

No clue what face this is- but just funny!
Look how much older she looks here! This is her-"Seriously you guys are still trying to keep me awake" Face!

hannahs first BIG snow!

Hannah had her first big snow on Tuesday! We got around 7 inches Jeremy says, and the snow keeps falling! Lucky for me, I didnt have any where to be and we got our very own snow day! Even Ruby was able to run and play in the snow (but had to come back in the house after she popped the ball of the little boy next door! Not surprising!) Jeremy decided to make Hannah her first snowman and we bundled her up and took her out to see it!

Hannahs first snowman!

All ready for the snow! Slept right through it all! (She reminds me of the brother on "Christmas Story")

The snow on our back deck...it keeps falling! Even my mom got a snow day, which NEVER happens!

This one is from Super Bowl- Hannah and Dad watching the game!
Before Courtney's birthday dinner on Saturday night. Of course I had to dress her in a cute polka dot dress, big bow and tights!

2 weeks old! (ok, so Im a little late!)

Im a little late on this one, but Wednesday Hannah was two weeks old! Where did the past 2 weeks go? They have already gone so fast! She is pretty much the same as she was a week ago but is much more alert and staying awake for a couple more hours in the day...or um...night. The past 3 nights have been a bit challenging but I know we are all just working on figuring out a routine. She is a great baby and Jeremy and I just love to laugh at her little faces. We love her sleep smiles and her crazy little bird mouth faces. She is the best little thing to cuddle up to on a cold day and has the softest neck I could just kiss all day long! I am really enjoying being home with her and learning more about her each day.
Hannah and I have had a big week- we were able to get out some and I loved feeling like a stay at home mom :) I met my friend Emily for lunch on Monday and the waitress asked how many months old my baby was....yep- she looks like a 3 month old! Ha!
At her check up on Wednesday she weighed 9.9 which is great, because I was sure she would be pushing 10 pounds based on how much she loves to eat! The doctor said she looked great and we will go back in 2 weeks for her one month check up.
Enjoy the pictures! I think she looks alot different than when she was born but I think her weight has shifted (not so much in her cheeks anymore!) Although some of my work friends came over yesterday to meet her and they said her cheeks definitely look bigger in pictures!

In the hospital after she was born!
2 weeks later...doing what she does best!

This one is random but I absolutely love this picture Jeremy took of Ruby. Maybe its the new camera or just a neat picture but I loved it. Can you tell Ruby doesnt like the new arrangement :)

this is only a moment

My moms friend gave me the perfect article for where we are at in our lives right now, and I couldnt have read it at a more perfect time. Kaethe was sweet enough to pull this article for me and gave it to me the other night. I tucked it into my purse intending to read it that night but time got away from me and I hadn't had a chance to read it. Today, Jeremy and I had Hannah's 2 week check up, then afterwards I had a doctors appointment, so to kill about 30 minutes between appointments we headed to starbucks and got some much needed caffiene! I pulled the article from my purse and began to read. It brought tears to my eyes because after an exhausting night with Hannah, I realized that "this is only a moment, not the rest of your life". Hannah decided to wake at 1:45 and not go back to bed until 5:30. That is the longest stretch she has been awake at night and we were not expecting it. I found myself so worked up, anxious and very frustrated. I was thinking the exact things she was thinking- Im going to be so tired tomorrow, I need to get back to bed, Poor Jeremy has to get up for work....among other things. What I should have done was take a minute to calm down and even though it wasnt the easiest moment, it wasnt going to last forever and she would eventually go back to bed (even if it was 4 hours later). I loved this article because it is so true, eventually Hannah wont want to be seen with us- we wont be "cool" enough, she'll be locking us out of her room, and soon enough she wont want me to pick out her cute outfits and hair bows. I need to take time to enjoy the sweet moments, the amazing moments and even the hardest moments. Because they may last, only for a moment.
I can only hope at 2:00 in the morning I remember- "this is only a moment, not the rest of your life".
