Date night & some pottery painting!

We had a nice little weekend...one of our last as a family of three. Thats crazy! I can only imagine what life with two little ones will be like but Im very ready for it! Also because Im just very ready to not be pregnant anymore. I hate saying that because it is a HUGE blessing and not something that everyone gets to experience but toward the end I find myself VERY uncomfortable and extremely exhausted. I know having a newborn will make me extremely exhausted as well but at least Ill be cuddling a sweet little baby :) Anyways...We didnt do too much this weekend but it just felt good to have a weekend to ourselves and not have much on the agenda. Friday night Jeremy and Dan worked on the counters and Emma came over to play with Hannah. I think they were both exhausted from the week and by 7:45 they were both ready to crash! Saturday morning my mom and I took Hannah to the Paint Spot to paint some pottery. I had envisioned a cute green polka dot plate with both of our hands in pink. Of course painting with a toddler doesnt always go as planned! But she had fun and we got lots of Hannah's little hand prints on a plate. She loved having her hands painted by the lady working there. Its so funny how your kids always listen to other people so much better than you! We grabbed a bite to eat after that and then it was nap time! She naps like a champ on the weekends. I am so impressed by her sleeping skills. She absolutely LOVES her bed. Of course we are at the stage where she needs 3 blankets, 2 babies, 6 books, a cup of water, her paci and a bunny. I have no clue how she has room to sleep but I usually go back in there at some point and pull some of that stuff out. It cant be comfortable!

That night we had a date night and didnt really have much exciting planned. A date to us just involves a quiet dinner and a trip to lowes. We will make really great old people! We love to eat early and I go to bed so early I might as well be an old person! My parents kept Hannah all night so Sunday morning we enjoyed a quiet house without Mickey Mouse on in the background and even grabbed breakfast together. I tell all my friends with babies to take them everywhere! Thats when you can enjoy a quiet dinner out. With a two year old- eating out takes on a whole new meaning! We dont get out too much anymore! I ran some errands and by the time my mom brought Hannah back over she was ready for a nap again. That girl slept from 12:00 to almost 3:00!! I always hesitate to take a nap when she does because Im afraid she is going to wake up but I should start because she usually sleeps for a while. She is so funny now, when you lay her down she wont let you leave the room until you give her a kiss and a hug while she is laying in bed. Its so adorable and moments like that just make me want to pick her up and squeeze her!!
Anyways- we headed to the park after her nap to let Ruby run and let Hannah swing but that ended quickly when Ruby laid in the biggest puddle of mud! You cant take that dog anywhere!!
Overall we had a great weekend. We have one more weekend as a family of three and I want to spend as much time with Hannah as possible. Her whole world is about to change. All of our worlds are about to change but for the better of course!
I have a short week this week...my last day is Thursday! I cannot wait to log off my computer for the next 12 weeks! Its Derby week here in Louisville and looks like it should be beautiful! Enjoy your week!

Hannah has a new cheese face which she loves showing off! We were enjoying a snack and I got a few cute pics out of her. She NEVER ever lets me take her picture anymore so Ill take what I can get. Usually she turns her head until I put my camera or phone down. Little stinker!

37 weeks & 27 months!

Here we are at 37 weeks and Im hanging in there! I feel so big and uncomfortable that there are some days I am just READY but Im such a planner and an organizer that he cant come before May 8th! Ha ha! But really, if he did come early it would be a little crazy but all would get taken care of. I just worry about last minute details with Hannah and Ruby. Right now everything is all set- we know who is taking care of Hannah each night and Ruby is all set to go to the kennel but if he came early we would be scrambling! With your first child everything is ready, bags have been packed for weeks but with our second, all our stuff is laying out (with the intention of being packed) I have newborn diapers all over the place and his room is full of gift bags. Im glad I have all summer to go through it :) I think the first couple of weeks will be MUCH different than Hannah's first few weeks at home. A little more chaotic and probably a little more messy around the house. Thankfully we will have plenty of help!
Im getting a little crazy around the house- every night I keep thinking, if we had him tonight- is everything ready, cleaned and straightened up? I just dont want to come home to a mess! Im getting into that last minute crazy, cleaning, organzing phase and its wearing me out! Ive been exhausted lately. I guess I should get used to it!
I dont have a picture today- I wore a shirt that makes me feel like I look like a tent. Just not flattering! But Im still doing pretty good just getting around is getting a little harder! And painting my toes!
We went to our 37 week appt yesterday and everything still looks good. We didnt get his weight at the ultrasound but he looks so adorable in there. I just CANT WAIT to hold him. I think he is going to have lots of hair and look like Hannah. Im thinking his eyes will be brown though. I really have no clue why I think that! Just a guess! Im hoping my last ultrasound next week they will check his weight. Im not sure if they will though. But all in all, he looks great and all is on track for May 8th

She is a mess! She reads & reads & reads! She did not want me taking her picture- which is the norm lately!

I wanted to include a little post on our little 27 month old! It seems after 2 years old you dont really break out their age by month but I still dont want to forget some of the funny things she does right now. She is STILL our little firecracker and some of the things she does and says just make us look at eachother and crack up!! Just last week she started with "Oh MY GOSH" and its a very loud and dramatic. She will just be reading a book to her babies (one of her favorite things to do) and youll hear her say "OH MY GOSH". Its so adorable. and we tell her to say it all the time. She cant really pronounce her "g's" so it sounds like oh my dosh.
She is also way to grown up for kids utensils. She always has to have a fork or spoon like we use. And its "my moon". Those plastic spoons are for babies I guess! If I can get one past her- its a miracle!
At just over two she is a talking machine and sings SO many songs we didnt even know she knew, she loves singing the alphabet. She will just sit and sing to her babies. She is a baby doll fanatic! She takes a baby doll everywhere. And always tells us that her babies are sleeping and that we need to be quiet. Lets hope she stays quiet when we have a REAL sleeping baby in the house :)
She loves wipes and baby diapers. She calls diapers "diawos". And always tells us that her baby is stinky and dirty. Im sure she will always let us know when baby Owen is :)
She is my SLEEPER! I am so thankful she sleeps. Im afraid Owen is not going to be a sleeper. But Hannah LOVES her bed and needs lots of sleep. She probably naps for almost 2 hours at school and we put her down between 7:15 and 7:30 and she sleeps until I wake her at 6:45. When I go in to wake her she rolls over and pulls the blanket up close to her face. As if to say, No Mom! Just 5 more minutes. Its very rare that we hear a peep out of her all night. Im hoping a crying newborn wont wake her!
She is just in a VERY fun stage right now. There are days that are very hard and exhausting but she is HILARIOUS and I absolutely love watching her learn. She is just a little woman and I love that she is all mine. We are trying to make her a little more indpendent because once Owen is here it will be hard to carry her down the stairs and do all the things for her that we do now. But she will turn into my little helper Im sure!

sweet sprinkle & 36 weeks!

On Sunday I had such a sweet sprinkle for our little Owen. He was spoiled with so many adorable things and surrounded by people who already love him. I am so thankful for old and new friendships- and family who is always there to support us. Im majorly bummed that I didnt get any pictures of people. I mean seriously?!? I know Im going to look back and wish I had more pictures documented through this pregnancy but I just feel like the last 3 months have been a HUGE whirlwind!! Usually I just pick up my phone and take a few pictures which will work for now! Im so ready for life to slow down but I dont think thats possible. I am VERY ready to enjoy this summer with our new little love and relax as much as I can!
The decorations at my shower were adorable and the food was delic! I took some pictures before the shower got started and between showing people the house, eating (alot!) and catching up with everyone I didnt pick it back up :( But it was a wonderful time and I am so thankful for such great friends and family!

I love all the decorations made out of paint chips. How clever!

they are best buds!!
my sweet girl! she loves sunglasses!
here is another sweet picture from the weekend. I love these two...and she is the BIGGEST daddy's girl!
We are also at 36 weeks and I tell ya- every night I think this baby is coming! He will most likely take his sweet time like Hannah but I am just in pain I didnt know existed. I know it comes with the territory but it sure does make me feel like Owen is on his way!! Not only am I uncomfortable but I am back to going to bed so early. I am usually upstairs in bed by 8:00 and usually knocked out asleep by 9:00. I am just so tired every day. Im sure this is preparing me for the next several months!! I forgot about all those sleepless newborn nights. I am going to take advantage of all the sleep I can get right now!
Everything is going well- we got to see our little guy again yesterday and he wouldnt show us his face for anything! They did check his weight and he is weighing in at 6 pds 6 oz. I actually believe he is going to weigh less than Hannah. He has gained 2 pounds 2 oz in 4 weeks. If I was a betting person Id say he will be around 8 1/2 pounds. But we will see! She did tell us she could see lots of hair in the ultrasound. Not long but a good amount. We all know how much hair Hannah was born with and that girl still has a big ol head of hair! We are getting a little more ready- but if he was to come early we would have people scrambling around for us for last minute things. But Jeremy did put the carseat in the car last night. It was so weird looking at two carseats in the car but I figured a 36 weeks it was time. We also put the bassinet together so at least he has a place to sleep and will have a ride home! We are definitely ready to see his sweet face and hold him but we know we have alot of little things to do before he gets here. We better get going!

House- Before and Afters! Finally!

I am FINALLY getting around to posting pictures of the house. Mainly because it is just now in shape to take pictures of! I had such a sweet baby shower yesterday which also served as a great way to get everyone over to see the house. We are SO much closer than we were in January and it feels SO good. We are going to take a few nights and finally focus on getting ready for baby! Like, pack some bags, get the bassinet ready...just in case! I hate being unprepared so these bags could sit for the next 3 weeks but thats worth it to me! Anyways this post will be about the house and total picture overload but then when I get a second wind Ill post about my shower. Our sweet Owen was spoiled and it was so great spending time with family and friends!

Here is the family Room before....
Family Room After...

We painted all the trim a white, painted the walls a beige and painted the fire place the color of the walls. I love how the fire place turned out.

I love hanging pictures this way. SO much easier then figuring out spacing and hanging on the walls.
Kitchen Before...

Kitchen After....
The kitchen really did turn out so pretty. Right now- Jeremy and Dan are working on our counter tops. Our garage is filled with concrete but they look so good. I cannot wait to get them on!

Master Bedroom....
I dont really have any before pictures....it was just a big empty room. We havent painted in here and not quite sure when we will. That is very low on the priority list but maybe one day.

One of my favorite rooms is the master bathroom. I love a good bath and this is perfect! Its so nice and roomy!
Master bath before...

Master Bath After...
My mom spray painted this vanity and it turned out beautifully!! It looks BRAND new! The green carpet had to go too!

I loved this little project. Jars from Hobby lobby- $4 then 50% off. Knobs were $4 and 50% too. Jeremy screwed holes in the top and look how cute! Now I just need to fill them!

Kids bathroom before...

Kids bath after...

sprayed the vanity dark gray
This bathroom was my moms project- she literally did this bathroom in 2 days. She works as fast as the people on those DIY shows!
A friend of mine is using this fabric for the bedding for her little girls room- as soon as I saw it- I fell in love. Its adorable!
Hannah painted this elephant- it was the inspiration for the gray and yellow!
Hannah's Room....Its really pink but she's only a little girl once, right? :)

I absolutely LOVE this pinterest idea. Rain Gutter bookshelves. SO Easy and SOOO cheap!! Hannah loves picking out books and sitting in her chair.

Downstairs bathroom- I dont have a before but it had a wallpaper border and the vanity was a dark brown. We painted it black and changed the mirror and lighting.

Here is the entry way before... we put all new hardwood in the entry, kitchen and dining room. It turned out amazing!

and after...

love these door knobs we found at hobby lobby!

Living Room before...this is now Hannah's playroom- and we LOVE having the space- so does she!

this isnt the best after...we've added blinds, and a curtain rod with cute little clips to hang all of Hannah's school work. It is usually a mess but worth it!

Dining Room before...

Dining room after...

We are still trying to find decorations for the dining room but its not really a room we use but nice to have!

Here is the deck- we spend alot of time out here on nice days. Hannah usually eats her dinner on the deck and we blow alot of bubbles out here!

And here is the front. I took this picture this morning and its not the prettiest morning so it looks gloomy but we have done a few things. Jeremy is working very hard on the yard....its a huge project, they never took care of it. We also painted the front door black and removed some odd looking landscaping. It does look much better!!

So there is most of the house. Owen's room is coming along and my craft room is really just a room with craft things everywhere. We will work on it this summer when we have more time. The basement is in great shape so we just added our old family room furniture and made the guest bedroom cute enough for visitors! Its really coming along and we are REALLY happy here!!
