Funny girl!

I am loving this stage that Hannah is in...dont get me wrong she is a handful and beyond strong willed. I now know what my mom meant when she would tell us about Alex, "Just give it to him!" Ha ha! Its funny the things you do that you never said you would as a parent. I choose my battles wisely. If she is screaming over a granola bar then Im going to give it to her but if she wants to take a sharpie marker to her playroom...then no way! Ive learned that what I do most of the time is bribe and lie! Ha ha!
But anyways- as strong willed as she is, she is HILARIOUS! She comes up with the funniest stuff. This morning on the way to school I saw a school bus (which she loves) and I said, Hannah do you see the school bus? She said- I dont like school buses. I like big trucks. Do you like big trucks mommy? I said, Yes I like big trucks. She said, Owen likes big trucks!
Oh the mind of a two year old! Funny!!

The other day she put Mickey in time out...poor Mickey!!

She is doing great with her glasses. We are reminding her less and less to put them on. We usually tell her if she doesnt have them on she cant have her bunny or watch Mickey. That usually does the trick!

We celebrated my dads 60th birthday on Sunday- it was wonderful to get everyone together!! Happy 60th dad! You are making me old!!

Im so ready for the LONG weekend! We are going to watch the big UK/UL game with friends and Im welcoming the rain. We NEED it for our yard- so bring it on!!

Finally Friday!

Thankfully its Friday! I live for the weekends :) We dont have too much going on but plan on enjoying some family time. My dad turns SIXTY on Sunday so we will celebrate with him too!
Hannah is doing SO much better with her glasses than I expected. I picked her up yesterday and they said she did great! They said the other kids didnt mess with them either- except on little boy just reached out to touch them and Hannah stood back, put her hands up and said, "no!" Ha ha! At least her strong willed little personality keeps her standing up for herself :) She looks ADORABLE in them. She kept them on most of last night and had them on in the car on the way to daycare. Lets hope she keeps this up!!

I am also so excited because we are signing Hannah up for soccer this fall. Im not sure if she will love it but its pretty cheap so if she hates it, I wont feel like I lost money. Its for kids 4 and under and they dont really play games they just practice. I cant wait to watch her! She is playing with her friend Emma so I cant imagine all the cute pics we will get. Then later this fall we are going to sign her up for gymnastics- she loves when Stretch n Grow comes to her school so hopefully she will love gymnastics!

Owen has gotten back to a better sleep pattern- he was going through a phase where he was waking up between 4 and 5 but now he is back to between 5:30 and 6. Ill take it! I was TIRED to say the least.

I have a couple apps I wanted to share- just because I love learning about new, great things too!
I found an app called "Project 365". It allows you to upload a picture for every single day of the year. I WISH I knew about this when Owen was born but I started in July and have a picture of him every day since then. Its so fun to go back and look! Its a free app but I think if I upgrade you can put together some sort of picture collage with all of them.
Another one I saw on Pinterest is called "Artkive". You take a picture of your childrens artwork and can categorize it by child and grade. Then you can print books of all their artwork. How neat!!
Iphone apps never cease to amaze me- there is always something new and awesome out there!!

Thats all the random stuff I have for today- I hope everyone has a great weekend- Im ready to spend it with these two :)

Hannah-isms

Hannah has always been hilarious but as she gets older & more vocal the things she comes up with are hilarious. Just a few she's come up with lately...

The other night at dinner we said a little prayer, "God is great, God is good. Let us thank him for our food. Amen." right after she said Amen she shouted, "let's eat!"

We were all sitting in the family room & Hannah & Jeremy were reading a book. I said, "Hannah, are you reading Rapunzel?" Jeremy said no, it's Sleeping Beauty. Then Hannah said, "yea, it's stinky booty!"
OMG!

The other day I caught her putting her baby in time out. Then she lined up all her stuffed animals to sit in time out with her baby. She has a crazy imagination!

she is also going to be a big storyteller- just like my sister!! ( funny story- when Lindsay was little my nana had called our house & asked for my mom. She told nana that no one was home but her...oh and a man named Sino & he only spoke Spanish. Imagine the fear on the other end of the phone!!)
So as she had 3 babies laying on the floor & she was putting them all night night, she looked up & grabbed her cheek. I said what happened?nShe told me her baby hit her!?! What! So she had to put baby in time out. Well of course!

She is nothing but funny!! My strong willed, hilarious little girl!!

Here she is in her glasses...it's not going well!! please pray we can keep these on her!

I put mine on to help encourage her...not working!!

Such a cutie! Whatever I said must have been hilarious :)

catching up!

I am behind in blogging! So to catch up...we had such a nice weekend. went way too fast but what's new! Friday was my half day....LOVE those days. I met up with Courtney and took Pierce's 6 month pictures. He is such a sweetie!! We had alot of fun! Then I ran to pick up my little man and cuddled him until Jeremy got home. Im LOVING and so thankful for this cooler weather- it means Jeremy gets home at a decent time :) Then we went and picked Hannah up and grabbed a quick dinner. That is usually very brave of us! I hate to admit how early we go to bed but we are seriously so tired by 9:00 that we can barely stay awake. Now that Im back to work I love when I dont have to go anywhere on Sat and Sun mornings. I rush around the house and get up at 5:20 am 5 days a week so the break is wonderful. Saturday Jeremy and I got out for a very nice date. My mom kept Hannah over night but she also kept Owen while we had dinner. We splurged on an awesome meal- it was really part of Jeremy's fathers day present but we had dinner at Pat's Steakhouse. I had never been there and Jeremy just wanted a REAL steak. So we chose Pat's- it was such a nice evening out. We got to talk without worrying about someone interrupting us or checking to see if someone needed a diaper change :) We even grabbed dessert afterwards. Im not quite sure how we had room- especially after Jeremy ate the biggest steak Ive ever seen. Im so thankful for my parents watching the kids sometimes- it's always so nice to have some quality time with my hubby. Alot of times we get so busy with the kids we forget about eachother! But we always miss the kids like crazy even if its only a few hours.
We have enjoyed a nice, quiet and productive Sunday. Hannah took almost a 3 hour nap which gave Jeremy time to work in the yard and I did some laundry, cleaned some carpet and just worked around the house a little. Slowly but surely we will get this yard back in order. The previous owners left it looking so awful that we have alot of work ahead! Once the weather really cools down we will start some major work!
This work week has already been a little crazy...but at the end of the day- Im thankful I have a very nice place to work and a flexible schedule. I never want to take it for granted that I get to walk out of there at 4:15 everyday!
Today we took Hannah to try some frames on. I felt like one of those crazy mothers you see in public. Hannah was all over the place, did not want to try glasses on, and was very uninterested in the process. Owen was crying, spitting up, Hannah was singing loudly for all to hear and even walked straight into a desk (maybe these glasses will help with her inability to look where she is going!). But we picked two pairs of frames and Im pretty interested to see how long they last!

Im exhausted but ill leave you with some pictures from the last week or so!
 My three favorite people!
 Getting fitted for glasses!
Helping me feed Owen! She is definitely a little mother!
The absolute sweetest baby there is. He doesnt make a peep unless he's hungry!! He cant compete with Hannah I guess- so he doesnt even try :)
 checking herself out!
she loved getting to wash her car!

First day of school!

Since Hannah's daycare treats it more like school than regular old daycare (which I am SO glad!) we celebrated her "First" day of school in the Monkey Room on Wednesday! She got to take a big bag of school supplies and her backpack- she was so proud! The morning wasnt the smoothest- one of those where after I dropped them both off I sat in the car and thought- what the heck just happened?? I even listened to wheels on the bus almost all the way to work until I realized what I was listening to. That actually happens alot. But here she is, so proud to be a Monkey!

Hannahs MRI

We had Hannahs MRI yesterday morning- all went very well. I was SOOO nervous about the IV and sedation. Mainly because the thought of my child being in pain or being scared or nervous just breaks my heart. But I should have known how awesome she would do. She's so much braver than I give her credit for. They gave her some versaid- which is what she had when she got stitches and Im so glad they gave that to her to relax her. Then they did the IV, which they numbed her hand first. She didnt even flinch!! They took her back and about 40 minutes later she came back sound asleep. It took her about an hour to really wake up and once she did....oh my goodness. Not kidding, she cried/screamed for 2 hours!! They said she could be grouchy or irritable when she wakes up and she definitely was. Nothing was going to make her happy. They really wanted her to drink some water to make sure she could keep it down but after about 45 minutes of fighting her to drink water they finally let us leave. I think they were tired of hearing her scream! I took the day off to keep her home- she definitely needed to be home all day. She finally napped and we were able to rest too. That night she was back to her same self! Lately she has been singing every single song she knows. I LOVE when she sings. There is something so sweet about it. And tonight she was putting on shows for us. She would say, watch this, watch this, and do some funny move. She was cracking us up!!

The best news is that all is fine with her head and brain. I called the doctors office, because I couldnt wait for them to call me and they said the results had just come in and all was good. WHEW! So glad that is over with. That just means the next step is picking out some adorable glasses for this sweet little girl!!

 sweet :)
 showing me her hospital bracelets!
Is this not the most beautiful face. This was when she came out and was still sedated (and quiet- ha ha!)
Jeremy drove her around in this until they called us back. We had to keep her mind off of eating or drinking somehow!

I also have to give a birthday shout out to my mom. Her birthday was yesterday and in all the craziness of the MRI and dealing with Hannah screaming for two hours I didnt even wish her a Happy Birthday (until I realized I had already talked to her on the phone and didnt even say anything)!! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best mom and granmommy we could ask for. Not quite sure what we would do without her. She is always helping somehow. Whether its making us dinner, picking up the kids or just coming over to give us a break. We love you so much and hope you had a great birthday!!
We celebrated on Sunday night with family- here is Hannah enjoying her carrot cake!
Bumpah holding Owen- he will be 95 next month!
Happy Birthday!

3 months old!

Im getting further and further behind! Sorry sweet Owen!!

3 months ago our lives changed drastically- and got MUCH busier, but its been the best 3 months! Not only are we so thankful for another precious baby but we loved becoming parents again and honestly, one of my absolute favorite parts is watching Hannah as a big sister. The other morning Owen was already downstairs before she came downstairs and between eating breakfast and watching Mickey she didnt see Owen in his bouncy seat- so all of a sudden, very concerned, she said, "where's Owen?". She is always thinking about him, talking about him and either covering him up with a blanket or taking it away from him :) She truly loves him. She loves making him smile and laugh and when she gets the chance she loves patting his back. (She has a SMALL obsession with putting everyone night night). She makes everyone lay on their stomach, she covers them up with a blanket & their heads too, and pats their back over and over. She could seriously do it for an hour. If you lift your head up- she pushes it right back down and says, "No! Go night night!" "It is funny, but not when you are the one getting patted! When Owen is doing tummy time she LOVES to pat his back- usually its rather rough but she loves it. I know Ive said it before but she has become so loving. She really understands love, she understands that we all say I love you, and loves telling us that she loves us. Best words you can hear from your child! Owen is just the absolute SWEETEST baby. I mean seriously- he and I have a very special bond. He loves when I snuggle him and can go right to sleep. I love it too. Ive been holding onto him so much tighter. I dont know if its because he could be our last one, or I forgot how much I loved the baby stage- Im not sure what it is, but I never want this sweet baby stage to end. But it is inevitable and it will end! He is already changing so much!
Owen at 3 months:
We weighed several times and it seemed as though it was coming out to about 15.6 pounds. When I had him on the scale with me it was like 16 pounds! But we will call it even at 15.6. Some of his 9 month onesies are getting snug :) He's SO juicy! He goes back at 4 months so we will know for sure then.
24.5 inches long
Wearing anywhere from 3-9 month clothes
Size 2 diapers
Eating about 3.5- 4 oz every 3-4 hours. Of course when he gets home from daycare he eats like almost every hour!
Sleeping from 9:30 or 10 to about 6 in the morning. There are some mornings I have to wake him up but most of the time he gets up about 6 or so. Then he eats and goes right back to sleep. I am glad we are developing more of a routine but it still stinks to be at work :(
He is doing awesome at daycare! They said he is a very laid back, easy going baby. He literally just sleeps and eats!
He still takes the paci but not as addicted to it as Hannah was (still is!)
He is really liking his baby einstein mat and can play for a while as long as he is full.
Overall he really is just a sweet, sweet baby boy! I literally hold him from the time I get home until he goes to bed. Some mornings when Im holding or feeding Owen, Hannah will bring a blanket over and we will all just snuggle in our big chair together. Those are the moments I am so thankful for.
Happy 3 months sweet baby boy! You are your momma's little boy and I LOVE it!

Hannah was dying to be in on the picture taking :)
Here are the three month pictures I attempted :)

 they actually look alike here!!
 SWEET sister!!
and sweet baby boy!

poor Owen looks scared! Hannah is usually gentle with her patting but she can get carried away :)

Thursday randoms

Just random things going on in this little head of mine...

Pinterest is obviously amazing for so many reasons. One more reason is that I got a splinter randomly- I mean who gets splinters any more? But I did and it was one that hurt. So I remembered that I had pinned a tip to get splinters out and went back and found it. You basically take baking soda and make a paste by mixing it with water. Rub the paste on the splinter spot and let it sit for a couple minutes. Then I wiped the paste off and literally just pushed it out. No pain, nothing. Just watched it come right out!! Now this is defintiely something to remember for kids. I cant imagine taking a pair of tweezers to Hannah. I can barely get her toenails clipped or her hair brushed!

I have been obsessed with the Olympics and love watching it each night. One sport Jeremy and I loved watching was the sand volleyball- mostly the women. They are just incredible!! They won the Gold last night and it was so fun to watch!! Made me a little sad that they wont be playing together anymore. But they were so good!

Randomly I found this blog about a mom, 2 kids, full time job, trying to shed her baby weight. And on top of that, she is HILARIOUS. I mean, I literally laugh out loud at her posts. Ive actually been using it as inspiration to myself to get into much better shape and actually make healthier food choices. Not that we eat terrible, I mean I love pizza and going out to eat but its not like we eat Mcdonalds- like ever. But its just nice to have some tips! My goal right now is to drink a gallon of water a day. Ive already had half a gallon today so onto the next half! I actually do drink alot of water at work but my mornings are filled with coffee and unsweet tea or diet coke. Its going well so far!
Her blog is www. Mamalaughlin.com, If you feel like reading- she's too funny!
Breastfeeding helped me shed all of my baby weight plus about 5 pounds- which Im very thankful for but I have plateaud and keep going back between the same 2-3 pounds. Frustrating!! But I also cant say that Im actually working out and on a diet. But I am going to try and do some little things that might help! Anyone ever heard of the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels? Thinking about trying it....lets see if I last a week!

We are trying this recipe- Slow Cooker Italian Beef sandwiches in the crockpot today. I hope its delicious because it sounded very good! Ill report back!

We had operation "Take Paci Away" last night and it FAILED. Ha ha! Hannah knows she cannot have her paci at school. So as soon as we turn into school she automatically hands me her paci (see, she is so smart but too smart sometimes!). Its nice that she hands it to me and doesnt put up a fight. BUT the second I pick her up she wants it. And of course I give it to her. (Lets face it, its better than crying the whole way home!). But yesterday she had it in her mouth on the way home and she was telling me what song she wanted to listen to on her CD and I couldnt understand her for the life of me. So I kept telling her to take it out and tell me again, well that made her even more mad. So between her screaming about some song and Owen crying because he was hungry, I came home and told Jeremy we needed to take the paci away during the evening. She only needs it during bedtime, naps and she can have it in the car. Well..that went over terribly. She literally screamed for 45 minutes. And followed anyone around who would listen to her. POOR girl!! So we caved. But I also picked worlds worst time to do that. I mean it was kind of mean to take it away from her with no warning, when she is at her most tired point in the day. We shall try again!!

Ok...I think thats all. This ADORABLE little boy was 3 months yesterday...more on what he is doing at 3 months later!

Look at those cheeks & lips!!

Told you that was random...thanks for listening to me ramble!!

Thank goodness for coffee!

Monday morning came way to fast and way to early today! I am so thankful for coffee to get me through my day. I know its suppose to get easier (or maybe cause its Monday) but leaving Owen is getting harder. Its not suppose to happen like that. Its suppose to get easier. But maybe just because its after a weekend of cuddling him it was hard to let him go. I LOVED picking him up early on Friday and Im pretty sure I didnt let him go all weekend! He sure is a mama's boy- and I dont mind one bit!!
Friday night I got hit with an awful stomach thing and was throwing up. It didnt last long and I dont think it was a bug or food poisoning or anything but it came on fast and was awful!! Being sick takes on a whole new meaning when you have kids- because there is no time to be sick!
Jeremy was home BOTH mornings this weekend and I cannot even tell you how much I love that. I mean it seriously makes my weekend. Even though we didnt leave the house on Saturday it didnt matter because he was home to spend Saturday morning with us. It was great!! We cleaned out the garage and Jeremy worked in the basement to make sure all the water had dried from the water leak we had on Wednesday night- (thats another story) but at 10:30 at night it is NO fun to find water filling your basement. But he is so handy he saved us a ton of money and we dried it out ourselves.
On Saturday Hannah had spiked a fever- which always has us on guard since her seizures but tylenol seemed to bring it down. She was just not herself. She literally laid around and wouldnt eat anything. Poor girl!! Sunday morning we went out for breakfast- H was so good! She really was awesome this weekend. She is turning in to such a loving child. And she was hilarious with all the songs she was singing. Im dying to get Old McDonald on video because she puts her own little twist on it :)
Then we went to the grocery and came home and I got ready for a baby shower for an old friend I cheered with in high school. I wanted to bring Hannah but was afraid with her fever she might have more than a bug. But Jeremy said while I was gone her fever broke and you could definitely tell she was feeling better!! Jeremy made us a delicious dinner and we watched the Olympics. I am obsessed with the Olympics this year and could watch them all day long! But Im lucky if I get to see one or two events. The gymnastics had me up too late last night which is probably one reason Im so tired!!

This face is the sweetest! I cuddled him all weekend!

PRECIOUS!!

Big day for Hannah- picking out her own big girl panties. Now let me just say- it could be months before this girl is potty trained because honestly, she just likes to be naked & sit on the potty & watch Mickey. Funny girl. Once she gets it though- she'll do great!!
She has been showing us all the new things she can do which includes drawing a triangle & an octagon!! I mean really- what a smarty!! She does learn so much at school- im so thankful for that. Friday her teacher told me she was a good sharer & independent. She watched Hannah read a book to her friends- made my heart melt!!

Flashback Friday!

This is an old picture of Hannah- she is just 10 weeks old here and I can say that they ARE related!! :) I can finally see it in these pictures! They are BOTH 10 weeks old  here and I didnt even know that when I compared these! But gosh dont they look alike here- I just dont know how Hannah is so much chubbier than he is but he weighs more than she did at that time! These two just steal my heart :)
