Christmas Vacation Part 2!

So we made it to the house and we were ready for almost 2 full weeks of Christmas fun! It rained alot, but that didnt bother us much. It definitely didnt bother the guys, they played alot of golf! The first couple days we just relaxed and helped unpack and set up bedrooms, we were having fun setting up the new house!

While the guys golfed in the rain, we grabbed some lunch at Fresh Fields, the cutest shopping center right down the street!
Settling into a brand new house, 10 hours away from where my parents live came with its own set of challenges. Like when we realized the oven didnt work, and wasnt working anytime soon. Not to  mention the smell of gas was so strong we all thought gas was leaking somewhere. And all that was just the beginning!
Wednesday was Christmas Eve and it was definitely different than anything we've ever had before but it made for good memories! This was our 3rd day in the house and I guess between trying to use the oven and the new fireplace we all smelled gas, pretty strong. My mom called security to get the number to the gas company and instead of sending the gas company...we got the fire department! Blazing down the street, sirens and all. We were like, NO WAY! They were very serious, we did understand that, we all got out of the house and they didnt find a gas leak. A little embarrassed but we all got a little laugh when Owen sat in the front seat of the fire truck. At least it made for good pictures?? But it was good they checked it out, we kept smelling gas the rest of the trip!

So after the fun of all that, we headed out to get a gas grill because we needed something that would cook our dinner since we didnt have an oven! We stopped by Sears for a grill and it was worlds slowest Sears so the kids had fun riding the lawn mowers!

We also stopped by Dicks Sporting goods to get a ping pong table and some other fun things to keep around the house. You know, like a bow and arrow set?! Hannah is actually a pretty good shot, the best one is Alex! We stopped at Target (that was attached to a mall!) it was strange but we got some TV's (in the hopes that they would set the TV up at some point. That many people in a house and no tv or internet, first world problems, I know!) It felt like we were on super market sweep, and it was Christmas Eve so it was madness!

We finally got home and started some Christmas Eve activities, it was definitely different but didnt mean we weren't having any fun! The kids put together a gingerbread house, sprinkled some reindeer food, left cookies for Santa, and opened their Christmas Eve package. Pj's, hot cocoa and some books. We were all excited for Christmas morning!
No oven, you make no bake oreo cookie balls!

 Cant forget the matching pj's!

Oh and I am pretty sure this was the night that Lindsay went to take a shower and was getting no hot water. We couldnt even believe the hot water went out. I mean, thats pretty important! So thankfully my handy hubby knew what he was doing and after what seemed like an hour on a ladder in the rain, he did something with the water heater cap and fixed it. We were all grateful Lindsay could shower :)))
Adam and Nana were suppose to drive all day on the 23rd but Adam got very sick and couldnt do the 10 hour drive. We were so sad they couldnt join us but we know there will be more trips in the future. We knew he just needed to get better.

We all slept in that next morning and got the kids downstairs for Christmas fun!! We had a lot of fun watching them open presents and didnt even get to everyone elses that morning, we spread it out and made the fun last all day!

I LOVE this picture. He looks up to her so much.

 Santa came!

He was a present opening pro!

We enjoyed Christmas, Jeremy even got to golf in the middle of the day! I think he golfed more in the time he was at the beach than he has all year! We all took a nice walk on the beach!

He was suppose to leave Saturday evening but I checked on his flight status and it turns out his flight was cancelled and they wanted to put him on an earlier flight. So I made it seem like that wouldnt work for us and they said he could take a flight the next day, no charge! One of the reasons I didnt book his flight for Sunday was because of the difference in price. So this was an added bonus! We all got to watch the UK/UL game together at Red's and he even golfed early Sunday morning before we drove him to the airport. The airport is near the outlets so me, my mom, the kids and Lindsay and I decided to do a little shopping then grabbed a delicious dinner at Jim n Nicks, one of our Charleston favorites!! It was a great week!!

 Beautiful view of the Marina

 Mrs. Wishy washy!

 Beach house bums!!

We had a great, crazy week...but just wait for it, it gets better!
