what happens in Vegas....

ha ha, yea right! this was not that kind of trip! We had a GREAT time in Vegas visiting Jeremy and checking out our new home. I learned several things while we were there- the sun shines constantly! Right now, during "winter" in LV, the sun always shines and it gets up to about mid 60's every day. I can handle that! Because what we came home to was not pretty! Clouds dont mean rain in LV, actually I learned Las Vegas only gets 4 inches of rain...a YEAR. Pretty crazy. Im pretty sure last April or two Aprils ago it rained every single day in Louisville. I know I wont miss the dreary weather but Im sure some rain is nice every once in a while! With no rain means dessert landscaping so we wont have any grass to mow (well...besides the 270 acre course that Jeremy is in charge of) ha ha. We have a few small plants at our new house and thats it! At least I wont lose Jeremy to working in the yard on the weekends. I learned there are 194,000 slot machines in LV...yes even in grocery stores. Its so odd...but hey, if a slot machine in the grocery store means no state income tax...then fine by us!!
We really had a great trip. This was my first trip to Vegas ever, so it was all eye opening for me. Especially because its our new home. We had several things we needed to do while we were in town but I felt like what we did most of the time was eat (amazing restaurants!) and track down all the Home Goods in the area :) We visited the strip a couple times and just took in our surroundings. I will say I was shocked at how new, clean and really nice the out lying areas are. The areas where we were house hunting have clean neighborhoods, nice, new shopping centers and no matter where you are you can see the strip. Its pretty different than what we are used to. I really feel so much better after visiting the city, seeing Jeremys course, finding a house and meeting some people Jeremy works with. It wont ever feel like "home" because all of the people we love and miss will be 1800 miles away but I think there will be alot for us to do!
Owen did amazing on the plane- on the flight out he slept and ate and played and on the way back he pretty much slept for 3 hours. I paid for it around 2 am when he was wide awake but it was worth it. He did awesome!
Some highlights of our trip...In N Out Burger, finding our house!, catching up on the show "The Following" (if you arent watching this, you should be!!) Its on Fox on Monday nights at 9. Its the one with Kevin Bacon in it. I am HOOKED! And seriously this is the only show I have watched in 8 weeks. So we literally watched episodes 2-6 while we were out there. Every night we would have dinner, and catch up on The Following. It was so fun to relax and have nothing to do. We missed Hannah like crazy but let me tell ya- she wasnt missing us! Ha ha! She had SO much fun in Owensboro with Jeremy's family. That girl played for days!
We ate at the Hash House (one of those restaurants on the Food Network), we had date night on the strip, and the next night took Owen to the Bellagio :) He enjoyed watching the fountains!
We hated to leave the weather and Jeremy and the relaxation of a short vacation but we are back and we have 4 weeks to cram in as much family and friend time as possible. On top of work and getting lots of the details wrapped up. So in a nutshell that was our trip- great time had by all!!!
And this little guy- even in 6 days changed so much. He doesnt stop moving. He is pulling up on everything, cruising around and bumps his head about 7 times a day!

Here are pictures from our trip...in no particular order!
 Ceiling in the Bellagio
 Fountain show beginning
I think we wound up in the wrong mall....I really wanted to walk into all the stores just to check out the prices. There was not one store in that mall that I could afford- ha ha!
We found the CUTEST restaurant near Jeremy's apartment. We had coffee and dessert there and OMG their salted mocha ice cream was to die for. It was called Honey Salt. And if I could design a restaurant it would look just like that place. Old vintage decor, farm tables, mismatched distressed chairs- just gorgeous!
Headed to the airport to see daddy!
View of New York New York hotel
Fountain in front of Jeremy's course- in the background are two cell phone towers. But what is so funny is that the city pays Jeremy's course to make them look like palm trees! Too funny!
This little guy cannot be stopped! We have so many accidents in our future!
Owen checking out the slot machines in the Bellagio
 Hash House breakfast- OMG.
Casino in New York New York
Front of Jeremy's Course- pro shop on the right- restaurant, bar on the left. We had lunch with him one day and met his co-workers. I have no doubt he is where he needs to be.
We picked Hannah up on Friday and she CRASHED on the way home. A week of playing hard with her cousins will do it!
More breakfast as the Hash House
 View of the strip
 Such a pretty view!
Lost $3 on the slot machines and that was the extent of our gambling. I am not into gambling so I was just there for the sights!
Shopping center near our new house. Everything is so pretty, clean and new.
Making cookies with Hannah on Friday
Just missing our Hannah but she was having more fun in Owensboro!
Taking in all the sights on the strip
 Lunch with daddy!
Another view of the shopping centers near us
 And- Hannah's finished product :)
One view of Jeremy's course. Its HUGE. They have 2 courses on either side of the street so you go under the street to get to them.

And here is our new (temporary) house- I will have more house pictures to come!!
