the weekend!

we had a great weekend. even though I dont like being away from all our family and friends, living in a state all by ourselves gives us the opportunity to literally do whatever we want. We dont have an agenda so we plan the weekend around what we want to do. Friday Jeremy's course was hosting a family night so I brought the kids over for some dinner a little ride on the golf cart. Jeremy let Hannah drive, she was in heaven!

Saturday morning we woke super early and had our first road trip in the new van! Let me tell ya, 4 hours in the car with alot more space and a DVD player for the kids makes it go alot smoother. Jeremy's childhood friend from Owensboro and his family were actually going to be in LA for their sons ear surgery. Right now they live in Florida and headed from coast to coast to make sure their 4 year old son was in the hands of the best surgeons. Lucky for us that meant we were able to meet up with them at their hotel and grab some lunch and found a park nearby for the kids to play and catch up. Its been years since we've seen them so it was great to get together- in California of all places!

 Owen and Camden are 2 months apart and she is cute as can be! They were all so dirty from playing they all needed baths after!

We are SO lucky to always have a place to stay while we are in CA so we headed to the Knapps house and enjoyed their company for the rest of the weekend. Even the kids tantrums dont scare them away!

We planned to head home around Owen's nap time on Sunday which worked out perfect because he was asleep before we hit the interstate and Hannah was asleep not long after. They slept for 2.5 hours of the trip and since we didnt have to stop we made it from door to door in 3.5 hours. Now that I can do!
Jeremy will be really busy soon working on a big project at his course so I think Ill make a longer road trip with the kids in the next coming weeks. Surely I can do that drive myself, right?!

 This little boy wants whatever you are eating. Thankfully Hannah is very sweet to share with him. But she loves to feed him and it shows all over his face :)
