Our BIG one month old boy!

Owen was ONE month old on Friday! Wow. Hard to believe. Im not even going to say time is flying by because thats pretty obvious! All is going very well. Owen is a big, huge eating machine!! He eats all the time and his weight is showing it. At one month old he is 11 pounds 2 oz and 21 inches long! Get this- BIGGER than Hannah was at one month and he weighed less than her at birth. Crazy! He is just a sweet sweet baby boy and we are just so happy!
At one month old he is waking up a little more through the day and looking around and observing more. He is noticing his hands and trying to do something with them. One month olds dont do a whole lot :) He is sleeping pretty good- we got a 4.5 hour stretch the other night and that felt great. He goes about 3 hours between feedings during the night so if we get anything more than that then I feel like a new person! But we still dont have a routine and Im definitely not one to try and force a newborn into some sort of crazy routine by telling him when he's going to eat. We let him eat and sleep when he wants. Thats what they do!! Most nights we get to bed about 10. I try to feed him around 9:30 and hope we are all asleep by 10. He usually wakes up a little after 1 but if we can make it until 2, then I feel like a new person! He still spits up a whole lot but obviously its not affecting his weight. He's not a big fan of the paci as compared to his paci LOVING sister :) Maybe he'll find his hands. But he'll take it every once and a while. He's not a fan of being swaddled either- he was at first but not anymore. And he is a little higher maintenance when it comes to going to sleep. He likes to be held to fall asleep- right there on my chest. All cozy and warm. Hannah would fall asleep pretty quickly in a bouncy seat, or anywhere for that matter. But Owen just loves to be cuddled. I dont mind all the cuddling Ive been doing lately, its just a little more challenging with a two year old running around! But Ill take it whenever I can get it!! Overall our little man is just plain amazing and we couldnt love him more. We absolutely love having another child to love and we love watching Hannah as a big sister. She cares so much about him, if he has spit up, if he needs a paci or a blankie. If he sneezes you'll hear from wherever she is, "Bless you Owen". Its so sweet. She is very protective of him when I take him into daycare with us. All the other kids want to see him and crowd around his carseat and she always gets right in the middle to show them who the big sister is :) I love watching their relationship grow...its only going to get better!! We are looking forward to what month 2 will bring!!
There are nights that are so chaotic we arent quite sure what we are doing but then there are those moments that make you never think twice about filling your house with children. They are the most amazing gifts!
